If you were only allowed one Mech what would you choose? , post Smurfy's if you can. I have pondered this for ages and I was having difficulty choosing between my EBJ and my TBR , In the end my EBJ goes back longer than my Timby , so mine would be the Classic Ebon Jaguar build. I know its nothing new or exciting , but man I have had lots of fun in it , and lets face it , its fun we are here for.

For me it would be that same build you posted, but strip some armor and put that 1/2 ton to use taking 6 ERML instead of 5.

Yeh , I like my 5 ERM's as I am use to the heat now and I do a lot of bobbing around , but yes the EBJ is such a good mech and under used , but it does take a lot of time to get used to it and what you can do. The biggest mistake I see is people not Alpha striking as much as possible , rather I see a lot of cycling which does not do the Pin point damage this thing was designed for. If I do go for 6 lasers it is usually 6spl's.

IS: Battlemaster-2C, assuming the quirks stay.

Clans: My Loyalty Hellbringer with soon to be six high-mounted energy points.

Atlas ddc. 3 asrm 6s and an ac/20. I can play that mech every day and not get bored.

It would have to be an omni, so at least you'd get some loadout variety.

Probably a Timbie, I guess. It's fast enough, tanky enough, versatile enough, jump-jetty enough, etc.

UM-R60L Skirmisher - (AC5 + 4x ML, XL170)

So far the best build I made with the Urbie without resorting with a complete energy build.

I have a similar build with my Loyalty Hellbringer. 4 ERML and 2 LPL with ECM. One of the most versatile mech I tried. It's surprisingly effective.

But if I have to select one I'd say the timberwolf, it is one of the most balanced mech in MWO, as someone already said: jump jets, enough velocity, enough internal space, build variety, 75 tons...

Nothing original for me:

Clan: I use the same Ebon build as NZT Limitless the most...although the loyalty Hellbringer and the HBK-IIC-A are the go-to's for long range

IS: Battlemaster 2C, just for its pure power. although I personally enjoy running the Jager DD and the Oxide probably just as much

Of course I'd have to pick my LB-X Marauder; MAD-3R for tanking or the MAD-5M for mobility.

Timber Wolf , because I get bored easily and can make up limitless machinations in the mech lab for it.

My go to mech has always been the Catapult K2. I get better results in my EBJ, but the scatcat was the first mech I bought after my cadet bonus. Must be nostalgia. :D

Either my Centurion AL (3 LL)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0f3778420ce5daf

Or my Marauder 3R (2 PPC, 2 AC/5, 2SPL)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0023287839a3f3c

Both of which will be getting a rework when the Light Fusion engines come out. A little slower, a lot more durable.

As things sit right now?
HBK-4G

My ASN-21 and soon to arrive UM-K9 would be close, and there is always room for a CN9-D.... but my Hunchback is my go to robot. And admittedly, post de-quirkening/Skilltree, that could alter some. But as of now, and even looking at new tech? Seems to be as solid and satisfying a choice as ever. LFE should allow me that mobility boost to really be the icing on the cake. (while also allowing room for Light Ferro, etc)

MIne would be the first Hellbringer Prime I built. It was the first Mech that I actually had positive stats in. It is not as good as it once was because the increase in cUAC jam chances and cooldown have hurt it badly but I can still get decent games out of it.

This is the MetaMechs build for it. Mine is slightly different in armor allocation, ammo count and heatsinks: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...74a9fd9ae4e353e
