When did this become the thing to do? I've lost count of the times when in a lance vs lance situation i've engaged a target and the rest of my lance has legged it to cover leaving me in a 4vs1.
I think the time has come to add destructable enviroments so the cowards on both sides can be shot out of cover.
Vented and rant done.

Where have you been? This has been happening for years. The game is full of cowards.

Even if I think the egagement is in my favor I'm still going to use cover to preserve as much of my 'mech through the fight as possible. I have a very limited number of those things, you know. Sorry if it bothers you that I am trying to minimize the amount of damage I take during a fight.

Been like it for years in QP, surely it hasn't taken you this long to work it out

Was expecting this to be a thread about last person alive hiding and shutting down. Am disappointed.

The best cover, hands down, is a wall of advancing fire.
However most people in this game are abject cowards. Yes, you want to survive to do damage but you need to be spreading the damage the enemy does over your whole team. Leaving a teammate to die while you run away from a 4 v 4 fight just ensures that when the enemy comes to roll you it will be 4 v 3 - all but ensuring the enemy will win.
Better to fight 4 v 4 now than 4 v 3 later. The fact that most players are cowards and short sighted is a real key to KCom success - you push 12 v 12, 3 or more enemies "strategically retreat" and we destroy them 12 v 9, then 12 v 3.
Teams with the guts to stick together and push back give us the best challenge. Teams that try to hide and trade we just roll over and destroy before they're out of the dropship.
Even in pug queue the team that balls up and pushes wins 9 out of 10. Aggression wins matches. Aggression is controlling the match, it's deciding when where and who to fight. Hiding, sniping and retreating is just surrendering control of the match and hoping you win anyway.
Fight the 4 v 4 now so that you're the 4 v 3 advantage later. Always be the one who doesn't blink or run - it's always a safe bet that the other guy will. Charge, when some of the enemies break and run "strategically" destroy their teammates then farm the guys who went to hide.
Then laugh when the guys who ran away rage at their teammates for being aggressive.
