The topic is specifically about streaks. OP wanted to know why streaks couldn't do something, his question was answered, and I said if anyone wants that changed then first we need to make other changes. Other changes that were specifically about streaks.

Ok team:

so back to streak srms (with specific context regarding attacking - or not being able to attack - the critical objective underpinning the purpose of a game-mode) and the related and made-corporeal example of how PGI cuts corners and takes the easy way out when faced with popular opposition / engineering/creative problems.

It's a base. It should have defenses. However, coding a stupid "can't lock me 'cuz it's cheesy" rule is simply lazy and dumb.

Double the number of turrets. Give the turrets: 1 ERML, 1 LRM5, and 1 AMS. To be honest, it should be near suicide for a single mech to enter a base alone. As it stands, it's a joke.

NO NO THEY WOULDN'T!

I've posted multiple times in multiple locations the simple fix for the base LRMing "problem" and it is already in the goddamn game! Its called AMS! Just scatter a bunch all over the bases and JOBS DONE!

I usually dont give a rats *** about “muh precious stats“ but since you brought that up: looks like I am ahead of you on that leaderboard. Not by much but still ahead. Guess that means your opinion can be excluded in any further balance discussion aswell :P

Show me your stats then. All I know is that your stats are mediocre in every season. Which means any time you do well, you are merely getting carried by your team. And that means you still suck too much to talk to.

this kind of bit me in the nuts durring the event. i was running a streak boat in case i ran into a cell toting light. but that didnt happen so i made a run on the gens just to realize i couldn't fire because streaks.

the no lock thing was mostly to nerf the lerm spam, and given pgi's shotgun approach to nerfs, the streaks also got nerfed. which really doesn't make any sense. streaks cant win the game from half a map away. but its pgi so im not surprised.

Im still trying to figure out how do people pilot streak boats and not get frustrated by the countless no lock situations you run into with these things.

Because 1 game in 20 they do 500+ damage and eat 3 lights and a light medium. Of course most of that damage is to undamaged components and only some of it is useful.

No change needed to the lock mechanism. If you plan to bring down the base, bring the tools that can do the job. No "real" weapons equipped? Then destroy the enemy team... In that same regard, when i choose to boat small pulses on a locust i know up front that i wont be able to destroy the base because the turrets will get me... Thats the down side to boating, ammo for ballistics, heat for energy, no locks for guided missiles etc etc.
