Tier 3 & Thrive... DO NOT GO TOGETHER!!!!! Since the PSR bar is really nothing but an experience bar, then you can not even move up to Tier 1 is truly sad.

The context is "Thrive" = "Having a lot of fun", you elitist *****! <smh>

Interesting, friend of mine was actually quite happy with how the dragon handled and the silly amount of armor you can get on it.

Thats what i thought at first , my fist setup had a mix between agility and armor it was kinda silly how fast it was twisting. however its twist speed nor the extra arnor /structure buffs save the side torso from dissolving almost instantaneously.

so i tested a few more times this time with max armor/structure. no dice the dragon can not take the current incoming on the pts. (not like it can take the incoming on live, but at least you could scuff it up a little)

The new pts has pretty much destroyed this mech.

so basically the new pts has further restricted the range of operations of the dragon which is already quite limited on live.
the mech already borders on being a liability to the team when being fielded.

If pts goes live as is, trying to operate one will be more of an exercise of self preservation rather than attributing damage to the enemy. Just about any skirmish and or peek and poke exchange will be short lived and then the dragon will be relegated to capping as thats about all it will be able to do. Depending on how badly it lost that former exchange it may not even do that well.

The MWO Dragon actually has too pronounced of a CT, too small of ST's, and the right arm is way too low. A lot about this 'mech is wrong and that's why it suffers.

Just about anything you want to build could be done on a bushwhacker, ton for ton. That's never a good thing.

Personally, I never liked the dragon..

To me, it is one of the ugliest mechs in the game, with the snout being too big and unwieldy. Also, a mech without jumpjets named after a beast that is iconic for it's wings?

A mech with a comparatively small loadout (as in, not the firepower of an assault), named for one of the most terrifying and devastating fire-breathing mythical creatures?

It simply doesn't justify it's name in my eyes..

This name would be more suited to some other mech..

The Dragon in Battletech/MechWarrior is a staple of House Kurita, which is overwhelmingly designed from Japanese culture. The dragons in Japanese folklore are wingless, and typically associated with the sea, rivers, rain, and mountains. I don't personally recall having seen any depictions of them breathing fire, but regardless, all Dragon BattleMechs (that I recall) are capable of mounting a missile weapon in the center torso, in the front of the 'snout' area.

While the combat effectiveness of the Dragon is obviously in question in its place in MechWarrior online, the thematic design of the 'Mech is perfectly in line with the lore of dragons.
