I have seen these ideas floating about.
The poll
If you have another suggestion, please mention it in this thread.

I'm only excluding 2 options
1. C-Bills only - this came, this went. If you want it back, this is not the poll for you.
2. GSP only - this is the current proposal. If you're happy with this, this is not the poll for you.

[Edit] Added Option #5
This is a more fair return on a Mastered 'mech under the current system, leaves expansion room (where modules used to fill the void) and makes GSP as a refund more appealing. [/Edit]

The Allow GSP to be sold for 45k C-Bills each probably most sensinbel as there no losin party and easiest to change on current system.

Allow GSP to be sold for 45k C-Bills each seems the most fair option to me. I wonder what PGI is going to do. This announcement has started a dumpster fire of equal or greater magnitude than the one started by the full refund for CBills idea. I highly doubt PGI is just going to ignore this and just keep going. Something's gonna happen. Just the question is; what?

I'm inclined to agree that selling GSP for 45k apiece would be best. It means no-one loses out by not playing for the next few months and you can pick & choose when to exchange them. It will *probably be the 2nd easiest to code, just behind 100% re-sale value on modules.

X%CBills and (100-X)% GSP is the most likely outcome. PGI was worried about people having too many CBills so I don't think that allowing you to sell GSP is ever going to happen because it puts them back into the same place. Ideally it would be a 50% split, which is what you would get for selling the module, but they could go lower percent of CBills if they are worried about excess CBills.

Why not just give keys for those supply drops?

An example would be 1 Supply drop key for every 1 million c-bills that is refunded.

UPDATE!

Added Option #5

Option left out would be the option to select upon log in to select how much GSP upon logging in you get. So the way it would work is say I have 1289 GSP, I log in, I select getting 189 GSP, and so there is 1,100 GSP not being acquired and instead refunded as cbills at 100% value of 45,000 cbills per GSP which would be 49,500,000 cbills. Show this via a slider with the segment for GSP you can type in the number you wish to acquire. Post launcher allow people to sell GSP for 45k per pop in case they took too many and want less.

This gives players the most control over the refund and respec.

Those choices are currently split between option 1

Quote

Choice between GSP or C-Bills (per module, or all together)

and option 3

Quote

Allow GSP to be sold for 45k C-Bills each

I'm trying to keep it (somewhat) realistic, with just 1 system implemented. In this instance, I believe #1 is faster for the player, whereas #3 offers the ability to defer decisions, with the caveat of taking longer.

Which is why I voted for selling GSP for 45k per each, because it does the same as logging in and selecting. Just skips a few steps is all.

From my topic in general

Quote

Personally I think cbills spent under old system that no longer exists should equal cbill refund but some say we shouldn't have all these cbills pushed back into the economy. However the current system is just not right for some players. Sure the ones getting a few dozen mechs worth probably love it, but the ones that are getting hundreds worth, well...not so much. It would just take to long for some players to ever use that and cbills would be much better. So I was thinking if the other options of being able to sale all GSP or picking cbills for the refund isn't something PGI wants to do then how about a compromise. Lets figure out a reasonable amount of GSP and then set that as the minimum you get before being able to sale or pick cbills.

I was thinking about 50 mechs worth, would like less but trying to compromise. Exact amount is open to debate but thats over 8 ultimate mech packs worth of mechs so it would take most players a decent amount of time to get that.

What I'm suggesting is if your refund is currently

50 or less mechs worth of GSP then you get only GSP.

51 or more mechs worth of GSP then you get 50 mechs worth of GSP and the rest in 100% cbill refund.
Or all GSP but you can sale all but 50 mechs worth of GSP.
Or when you first log in after the refund goes live it asks you how much you want and you can choose how much you want in GSP but 50 mechs worth is the minimum.

This still cuts down on the amount of cbills coming back to the players but makes it so we don't end up with so much GSP that it is effectively worthless and for many a downgrade from the cbill refund of skill tree pts1.
