Another game is beating MWO to VR as a Mech pilot.
Obviously not the same style game, but is just makes me crave a Mechwarrior game in VR all the more.

In the youtube video I read this:
So how is this game beating MWO to VR if it isn't even ready for the public yet?

Beta footage. Some placeholder content. May not be representative of the final product, which will be significantly more awesome.

I suppose it hasn't beat them to it yet, however they have footage in VR, where I have only heard talk of the next MW game being able to support VR since it will be in Unreal engine, but nothing else concrete.

Mechwarrior 2 had VR support in 1995.
The franchise was first to the party.
I'm hoping MW5 will have support for it, but like Joystick support, I don't think that it is something that will offer an advantage for MWO players.
