While grouping up to play with friends is the most fun in every multiplayer game ever, the way it's handled in MWO is kind of counteractive. While you do get a tactical advantage of having a known team (most of the time) where you have prepared tactics, know each other and so forth, in most matchups, it's not 12 man vs 12 man groups, synch dropping is more favourable due to the increased tonnage that's available, meaning there's not much incentive to plau 12 man groups.

What incentives to play 12 man groups could there be then?

I though that maybe a % increase in match rewards based on player numbers could work well.
For instance (yes this has to be balamced so numbers are taken out of the air):
If you go in with one friend, both of you get an increase to your rewards of 10%, both XP and C-bills.
Go in with a full Lance and your bonus could be 25%.
While going in as a full group coulf yield a 100% bonus to your rewards.

Of course, percentages tweaked.
Also, an event for grouping up could be done to test it out could be used as well.
Like, play 5 matches in a group of 4 players.
Play 5 matches with a full group.
Etc.

What do you think?

Bump, make 12 mans fight only 12 mans. and 2-3 mans' ONLY fight other 2-3 mans.
Maybe have "set roles" as in a 12 man lance . (for instance 3-3-3-3, light, medium, heavies, assaults). so no matter what you pick you will always be put into a balanced lance.
we are adults and can stand waiting for a minute or two for a decent match, stop playacting to the impatient autistic screeching of the TINY few who can't stand waiting for 30 seconds to get a mech fix.

or throw out the current MM system and let us do private lobbies without "premium" time needed for 2 ******* people.
(let a 12 man form up, toggle a "flag" to signal the game client via a Faction warfare style prompt for EVERYONE to see. (allowing others to form a 12 man to challenge to first) (again, WITHOUT ******* premium time)

As it stands the current game setup actively encourages players to not play in groups larger than 3-4 and is extremely punishing to those who try to form larger groups.
