AFASIK, the Flea and Locust are the smallest by far.

Jenners, Comandos, yeah... probably won't see Protomechs or Elementals, at least not yet.

I'd love to see Elementals in upcomming relseases/updates. Just doesn't feel like a BattleTech game without them.

Here's a list of the 20 tonners. Mind you, not all of these are 3049 valid designs. Some are clan, some may be 'unseen'

A redisigned Hornet would be hilarious

Speaking of small mechs. who wants urban mech?

Urban mech, firemoth, and elemental

I would be happy with a redesign similar to this, if not for hilarity.

THE Wasp is a btech classic though. Probly seen more use by btech players than any other light mech over the years.

Protomechs:
Harpy and Erinyes both 2 tons

Mechs:
I believe there was a 10 or 15 ton police mech (never really sees mech vs mech combat).

Remember, though, that the Wasp was usually seen in its LAM variant (at least among the MW roleplayers I ended to game with), I have to say that the locust was always my personal fave, even to the point of having a poster of its blueprints on my bedroom wall when I was in high school.

20t Mech usually.
Normally at least about 90km/h and jumpcapable. Nasty stings in other mechs back side.

I really like to pilot small things and I am not very knowlageable about the mech warrior universe(pretty much I he all I know about this game from the forums)

Only the 25 tonners are listed so far. Its a deliberate conspiracy to keep me from making a 20 ton scout with a 300xl engine and top speed over 230kph. A conspiracy!

Quite a few cannon 20 ton mechs. Locust, Wasp, Stinger have been there from the very beginning.

Yeah - I hope we get a Locust - just for nostalgia's sake :) It was the ultimate run-and-gun 'mech...

Well, as for the game at the moment, the SMALLEST is the Commando, but it's sluggish and poorly armored. If you like the speedy fellas, Spider is the quickest and still pretty light. Jenner's a little beefier, but it doesn't sacrifice much in the way of speed. Cicada's as fast as the Spider, and while it's technically a medium, it really doesn't act its size... though it lacks jump jets.

Outside of the game, for the time being anyways, the smallest mechs available during this time period in the Inner Sphere that aren't also ludicrously slow are the Locust and Mercury, like the guys above were saying. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Locust is going to make an appearance in the future, though I wouldn't be surprised not to hear it either :)

Also:

URBANMECH!!!

Ugh, I can't believe Catalyst actually went forward with those things instead of consigning them to the dustbin of history like the Tetatae and Phantom Mech Ability.

Just say "no" to protos!

Not sure if we will even see it given it's status as an Unseen.. (originally from Crusher Joe's Ostall mech).

so far none of the mech they have revealed showed an Unseen mech so i am skeptical if we'll ever see them in MWO.
