Share some scenario where you think people just overreact and scream hysterical due to some preconceived notion.

For example:

Conventional Wisdom: Don't go in the basement on HPG

People overreacting:
Even early game when probing for alternate route, people will scream on the comm like it's some mortal sin.

That is WAY too vague. You have to be more specific.

They're the scapegoats for players who are often more to blame for the loss than the LRM boat.

Eh. Some builds are just bad. I saw a guy bring 6 flamers and an LPL on his Banshee. It wouldn't be fair to claim he lost us the match, but his dumb build certainly didn't help matters.

And while it's certainly possible to do well with an LRM Atlas or Kodiak, it's generally not a good idea. Other platforms are much better suited for LRM boating.

I can't tell if you are taking about people complaining about not getting maps that are super good visuals and smooth ground to walk around on. Or if you are talking about people wanting maps with worse vision and not so favorable terrain. Hilariously I can see people complaining about both camps.

A 'GG' for a lopsided game doesn't annoy me too much; I just assume it's someone being unobservant.

For example just an hour ago I had what I thought was a good fight with me and a couple teammates versus another few mechs on one side of the Citadel in River City. Unfortunately while six or so mechs on both teams were having an exciting battle, on the other side of the Citadel my team was getting wiped out. I got two kills and over 400 damage but it ended up 12-3. I can see one of the six players in my portion of the fight saying 'GG', but the stats don't really bear out the entire fight being good. Sure there are the guys who type 'GG' for a massive and total wipe, but I just read it as "I'm a d**k".

Personally I'll look at the kills and if we wiped out the other team I'll just go 'GJ' over teamchat because we did a good job wiping out the team. If it was an exciting battle and it's like 12-7 or closer I'll go 'GG' over allchat.

Yeah 12-4 or below I tend to go with the safer "great teamwork everyone".

12-6 or above its a GG really for QP standards.

I find it funny when a leader calls game over in a QP match when everyone doesn't do exactly what he says, but the fight hasn't started, 0-0 no fight going on but all you can hear is "Such scrubs, this is over gg noobs, god why you all suuuck! MM fail! I hate my life.."

And then your team wins.. "Lucky noobs, learn to listen or you will lose next time noobs"

Eh, no. My Assault has twice the firepower of a Medium, so longer I survive, better I can do my job, which is to deal incredible amount of damage and kill stuff.

About going under in HPG. I have had a few excellent matches going under, but for quite a while people go nuts at even the mention of trying it. Chat going nuts and every other way imaginable.

Very weird.

Never considered making a topic about it, but its so strange its worth a topic.

Trying to win conquest by cap is nearly as bad come to think of it.

I guess the strangest part of it is how every match can be like that. I mean is there not a single match where a few don't freak out at the mention of winning conquest by cap or going under HPG.
