We've all done it before. I am even now. I got some kind of flu that's making me cough.... not fun, but also hilarious when making calls.

"Hey he's over in-" * COUGH COUGH COUGH* "G3".

Anyone willing to share those most memorable or easily remembered moments of such?

I was playing with one eye for two weeks. Not sure why I went blind in one eye instantly while outside my place but I got good at playing with an eye patch. Going on 3 weeks later and most of my vision has returned. There was no redness or any sign other than my iris in one eye was open more than the other, I think because it was blinded it had no reason to close fully. Not a complete blindness just various areas blinded, but same result., was a weird light show in one eye, like seeing a camera flash that didn't go away.

So ya I am happy because it is sort of a mystery(yes went to emergency and then eye doctor, they didn't say anything really just took tests etc) and now I am nearly fully healed and know what its like to play with a physical difficulty now.

Mine is similar to Johnny's. But the results were less benign. I had eye surgery and waited several days before "straining my vision" as directed by my Dr. When he gave the all clear I played a few rounds that evening. Needless to say my vision was not fully restored. I did more team damage during that run of matches than I have done in two years of play. I mean A LOT of team damage. Repeatedly. Quit and gave the healing process a few more days to take hold. My team was appreciative.

Well I have 20/20 vision in both eyes again but the one eye is still messed up quite a bit, colors are bleached out a slight bit for example, iris still wont close as much as the other one yet. I really hope it fully heals.

It was bad timing, going to get my drivers licence renewed soon after 5 years. This is a sore spot for me since I was denied a bank account which is illegal. It would suck if I couldn't get my drivers licence because of sudden blindness. I did have my wallet and all my ID stolen shortly after being defrauded twice as well, which I was able to replace. I really could go on but it gets really bad. On the bright side, I am still alive. :)

People with various chronic illnesses have my greatest sympathy because they're always sick 24/7... it's just that some days are pretty bad (livable) and some days are terrible (unlivable).

Myself I have really bad premature joint paint (not sure it's proper to call it arthritis, but that's pretty much what it is) which has led me over the years to scale back playing mouse based PC games (I now use a touchpad for web surfing). I was still good playing console games with a controller for a long time until a couple of days ago and my thumb has started to show similar pain. Probably why I'm posting in this topic now because it's been on my mind today.

Life is suffering, which is why you need to find something greater than yourself to live for, or you just get consumed by pain and bitterness. For people who think that statement is too gloomy, just wait until you get old. I've seen a lot of people get old and everyone has to face this ultimate challenge eventually.

Once while I was making drop calls, my wife leaned over to the mic and moaned sexily. Almost strangled her out of shame.

Yeah, because everyone hearing "...harder, Daddy" over VOIP would have made things better...

I have chronic pain in my lower back and hands. I also suffer from migraines induced by eye strain.

All that mean that I can play for an hour or two before I have to wrap my hands in warm bandages and kill the lights to rest my eyes.

Quite hard to play when you see spots of light and your fingers tremble ...

After years of having these conditions, you learn to live (survive ?) with pain ... it's never easy, and most of the time I'm buzzed on painkillers, but it's mostly manageable.

But on bad days, I'm bed ridden and moaning.

More or less month ago when i was playing my nose started to bleed. The only problem was that until the end of the match i didnt know it was blood. After the game i had a real bloody battlefield to clean up.

Didn't happen in MWO, but in ARMA2 I was in a group doing a mission and had to ride passenger in a long helicopter ride between combat, I actually suffered from motion sickness while watching it and had to run afk and puke for a few minutes.

But if you hear me coughing in game it is probably not the flu causing it ;)

Lol, I've heard that ARMA is realistic, but making you **** IRL from helicopter ride is whole new level realistic.

I have a variety of chronic conditions, I had to quit my job as a pharmacy tech and now I spend a lot of my time in bed. Some days I can push myself through a few hours of gaming and others I can't even sit up in bed. Every day is different, I just thank my lucky stars it's not any worse than it is, my neighbor has throat cancer and doesn't have much time left and it makes my situation seem tenable.

No matter how bad life gets there is always someone worse off than you.

I once sneezed in TS almost exactly the same time as I've killed a mech. A groupmate was like "whoa dude, don't sneeze near me plz" ...

If I am in bed, I would take out my tablet and play games there. Hopefully one day, there is a Battletech game I can find for my tablet.

Sitting down and playing a game in a PC is not exactly a most healthy condition and position. Sitting is neither rest nor exercise, and yet you are under stress from gaming, so your heart is pumping but you are not exercising. Prolonged exposure to this will ultimately affect your health, and gamers have died from prolonged marathon stretches. There was a WoT gamer who recently died doing a marathon Twitch stream. Though that is an abnormal circumstance, being stressed while sitting down isn't an ideal situation for your health and takes a bit from your health piece by piece. This is worst if you are doing an overnighter, you lack sleep or are sleep deprived, and you are in the midst of a grind event.

It would be better if gamers would stop once in a while, take a break by walking outside or doing some exercise. I have been doing a lot of Pokemon Go recently and that cut my weight and abdominal fat.

Heh. Motionsickness from certain games is definitely a real thing. Most games don't affect me much, but Mirror's Edge, as an example, was so freakin' bad I actually had to lie down and sleep for a couple of hours when I tried that. Never played the game again because I felt so sick from it. Massive headache and nausea.

Not just motion sickness, but repetitive flashing or strobing lights on your screen, like from explosions or impacts.

There was a case before in the '90s that involved a Pokemon episode that had flashing and strobing lights that were making players sick, sending at least 700 children to the hospital. The Pokemon involved was an episode involving Porygon, and was never seen again.

Yeh I am usually pretty good with it, but I think I was feeling a bit off already, and the motion distortion just sent me over. Being a passenger and the pilot flying about like a maniac didn't help any for sure. I think the lack of control over the motion adds to it.
