Wait a sec...Tuk-3?

Um, so, don't you need folks playing CW for that?
4.1 has only been in place for what 4 months and already the CW forums have commentary from the regulars referring to increasing wait times and lack of population. So is Tuk-3 PGI's big plan to get people interested in CW again?

Ok, consider the last two attempts at such an effort. Did it work? No.
Now, consider the relative populations playing both times as compared to now.

What am I missing here?

How about instead of another Tukyidd, you instead do what you said you were going to do back in January and focus your efforts at giving your game the "frequent weekend events" focused on Clan v Clan and IS v IS as promised...hmm?

I do not like FP especially well and therfore i do not play it very often. But the Tuk-events were great fun every time. It had this tiny feel of actually doing sth meaningful for this event and that's what i am missing in FP.

I agree, but I think that great fun was due to buy in from the community. At best during Tuk-2 I believe Russ posted that during the event roughly 17% of the population was playing at peak. I can't imagine them getting that kind of (still relatively low) buy in now. When I played the previous events as a member of SO we had 3-4 12-mans running nearly around the clock. I bet they could not muster more than 1 with that kind of dedication now. The casuals have mostly fled because they know they will just get farmed. Tuk-3, short of having massive rewards -even for losers- is not going to change that.

Of course they do this instead of clan vs clan is vs is or op bulldog, that would take a lot more programming than just doing tukkayid again..

This is a pathetic, and extremely lame attept by PGI to distract us from discussing their abysmal failure at module refunds. Let alone the actual bloated ineffective badly stuctured skill tree that is worse than ones most other companies made 10+ years ago.

How will another Takuyyid be any different than the normal FP queue, which is meta-clanners farming IS teams? I have zero interest in that. I already run away whenever my unit calls for FP premades. Unless everyone has a drop deck full of Grasshoppers and Warhammers we get stomped, and it's agonizingly longer than quick play stomps. Hell with that.

I sure hope this is bait and switch, and that "Tukayyid" is translation for:
1) war of refusal for a Wolf v Jade falcon themed event to close out the current era.
2) an actual warm up event in keeping with the up coming Civil war based theme, with an event of IS V IS consisting of Davion v Steiner, followed by an event called "Huntress" after new tech drops and it could be just like Tukayyid but thematically in keeping with their own changes to the game.

The above idea would 1, show good faith toward their promise of faction specific events and 2, act as a lead in and follow-up to new tech and be a nod to the lore nerds who want nothing more than a little immersion.

But instead...Tukayyid-3. That right there calls for a sad trombone.

Just considering that MWO would have the player numbers to run for the next several years and we would already be deep in the Dark Age - but there would still be 5 IS factions and 4 clan factions and the main event would be called Tukayyid.

How about we just call it "Terra", that way they can justify another reset after 4.2 -or whatever it will be called- drops.

if they allow mixed IS/clan teams to help the imbalance issues

and if they add a solo queue or get rid of large groups in faction warfare

im fine with that
