Being new to this game and the Mechwarrior universe in general, I am incredibly disappointed by the absolute lack of effort put into explaining what Tukayyid is, or why it is so damn important to have 3 fricken battles for the planet.
On the Territory map, Tukayyid is front and center, but when you click on the planey, THERE IS NO INFO AVAILABLE.
Same thing for Terra.
Say what you will about the mechanics of the game and the efforts to create a balanced game we can all enjoy, but the lore is already written. It is insulting to be asked to spend hundreds of dollars on new mechs when they cannot even be bothered to explain why the mechs are being used in the first place.
Why create this giant map with hundreds of planets and have only a handful with details?
How can new players be expected to continue to show interest if there is nothing other than mechs and tech advances from which to glean a story-line?

For what it's worth, OP, the Battletech universe has always been one of my favorites...up until the whole Dark Ages crap, anyway.
The novels are available for Kindle very cheaply, many times under $3. It's either that or they can check stuff out at the Sarna wiki. I suggest reading the novels, though. After reading about how the Clan Invasion went down and how PGI is handling it, you'll understand why us Lore trolls are frustrated.

I think ppl went Smoked kitten this year just to screw over the lore, since in story, they suffered losses they were never able to fully recover from.
