OP,
Clan mechs are not "OP" there are four mechs maybe 5 clan mechs that are capable of doing one particular thing (long range PPFLD) that the IS can't match and those asymmetric answers to that state of affairs (brawling, etc.) can't counter due to several design flaws that PGI can't seem to address (Clan XL superiority, etc.). Many IS and Clan players recognize this design failure and are asking PGI to fix it. You call that whining, we call it making observation and asking for it to be fixed. As to why they don't just all play clan...
Because many of us came to this game due to its association with Battletech and we don't want "OP" mechs, we want mechs that just aren't garbage yet still feed the nostalgia.
Because PGI has stated multiple times that this is a competitive game where ALL mechs are to have a role and be of equivalent competitive value within the game...and we are still waiting for that.
Because some of those whiners have literally spent THOUSANDS to support PGI in the hopes that they would either make the game they originally promised OR make the competitive game I mentioned above; and that investment was not to play Clans, but to play the products that PGI sold them originally.
Because some still have hope that PGI will figure this shi7 out.
Alas, PGI has finally with the skills tree nerfs shown that their idea of a "competition game" is destroying the competitive value of numerous mechs (however temporary that may be) so don't you worry...a lot of those IS "whiners" will be going Clan just as soon as the skills tree and its many stupendously ill-conceived nerfs go live. Finally we can all play the same f**king Clan meta together. Won't that be a fun?
