Most days people perform thread necromancy in new player help, they do a search and find a thread with the information they are looking for, then reply to the, often 6-24 month old post to answer the question in the origional post or ask for further clarification on year and a half out of date quirks or continue a conversation abandoned a year earlier, then people look at the post at the top of the list and answer the OP rather than the final post with the questions.
there is usualy a much newer post with up-to date information which would have answered the questions they have but the forum search feature seems to find oldest posts first.
Doing a Google search for MWO with your problem is usualy many times more effective at finding the correct thread on the MWO forums than using the forums search tool, idealy that should not be the case.
my sugestions:
Reset the default order for search resualts to most recent first.
If possible try to improve the search algorithum to find more relevent resualts.
