Crimson, Frozen and a few others....

They come 10000000000000000000 times more often than Canyon.

I never ever play Canyon anymore. It was simply completly taken out of rotation.

But i dont understand why?

It was such a good map.

Instead I see maps like Forest Colony. I see Forest Colony pretty often. But never see Canyon.

Why put in the worst map that was ever created (Forest Colony) instead of just forgetting about it since nobody (not even God himself) wants to play it and instead put in Canyon into rotation again?

Why take out such a good map?

Edit: Just loading Crimson again.

Crimson is great. Yeah.

But I see it all

The

Time.

Like all the time.

And I never ever see Canyon.

Who makes those weird decisions. It seems so dumb and random that I gotta say its definitely a wrong decision.

Is there any official statement why theres no more Canyon Network?

It doesn't support escort or incursion game modes... so it appears less now.

I'd feel bad for Canyon.

I'd feel bad, but Canyon, among a couple other maps, were horribly overplayed before these new game modes. While the map is great, playing it a dozen times in a row gets real god damned irritating. For now, the slight change of scenery is acceptable to me.

But still boring.

Could use more new maps, please, PGI.....

Makes little sense especially as they felt the need to somehow shoehorn Incursion onto some of these maps where it doesn't make sense. We were told eons ago that they had the map assets needed to make alternates of each of the maps but that never came to pass. I would prefer 2 or 3 variants of every map. Tactics have long become stagnant as a result.

In order for us to be forced to play half-baked poorly designed game-modes frequently they had to cut some of the best maps in the game in favor of some of the worst ones because their bad-modes don't actually work on those well designed maps.


Ideally there would be a process to eliminate game mode concepts with the simple metric of: "Does this mode force the crap maps on players more frequently while reducing the good maps?"


If the answer is yes, the game mode concept dies in a fire.

Crimson really isn't that great either, honestly I would put it on the same level as Forest.

Despite having to play it pretty much non-stop during the WC, I still enjoy playing Canyon because it is still one of the better designed maps (even if people don't understand how to play it). I actually miss seeing the map as much as I used to.

Frankly, I don't miss it that much. Too confining for my combat style taste and seems I see the enemy in the same spots all the time now. We need 6 PLUS more maps and then ROTATE them out every three weeks or so. Better yet, introduce a map or two every 4 months. Will this happen? Not likely, but I liked the idea none the less. :)

actually I enjoy canyon beeing gone it happened so damn often it was a reason why I haven't started MWO for month.

I personally think every map should have its own GOOD unique gamemode create specifically for that map

instead of every map trying to reuse the same terrible gamemodes

Considering that i play once in a blue moon - the map rotation had Canyon and doesn't matter
the mode was TDM and doesn't matter

Canyon one of the best maps in the game. It does seem like it doesn't come up much, but that could just be random. Only PGI knows for sure.

I'm still seeing Canyon come up quite a bit, but with it not being Incursion or Escort compatible, a more popular map gets picked.

I seem to see it come up against HPG and Frozen a lot and lose the vote. I've been noticing as I've been running brawlers almost exclusively recently and trying to pick it.

It shows up less now because of the game modes, but it has a nearly 100% win rate when it does come up for me, and most of the time I'm not voting for it.

Im happy to see less of hiding in the ditches canyon.

this one map infuriates me the most with a good portion of ones team always hiding in the ditches doing nothing while the other part of the team gets hammered.

even with uav and comms those players are loathed to come crawling out of their ditch.

Favorite mech in the ditch: the lrm boat complaining that no one is getting him locks.

Canyon is one of those maps I don't really care for. It feels more like a map of ditches and not what I would expect of canyons.

I like a QP map based on Hellebore Springs, just without the base and its tight passages. Like you do a battle completely outside of that base.
