This is dumb. Majority of all IS mechs are complete trash just because they have massive hitboxes. What's up with that?

Locust.......
At least the artic cheater has had its hit detection improved slightly but I have video upon video of shots phasing through the locust.
Tbh I think they should just add some armor quirks to these mech and scale them all back up a bit

While I am generally of the opinion that light mechs need help, not nerfs, the arctic cheetah is an exception.
Somehow it is ridiculously durable and packs a wallop that most IS mediums envy.
It outclasses every IS light mech on the field. (at least with the csl/cspl build that most seem to use) It is fast, maneuverable, has ecm, and jumps.
Other Clan lights seems reasonable (meaning comparable to most IS lights, a bit more durable, with a bit more firepower, but not outrageously so).
If every light mech were as potent as the ACH, everybody would actually start playing them (lights), because everything else would be meat.
I only wish I were exaggerating.
Edit: Corrected typo.

How about trying not to be seen in the first place. Once the battle heats up no ones going to single you out in a hurry no matter what you are in.
Cheetah is fine, it's ability to not handle heat means it gets far less shots off. I admit they are nasty but you can do lots of nasty damage in IS lights too.
I saw a good T1 player do 700 damage and 5 kills in a panther which tends to get lots of flack.

Also an overwhelming number of mediums exceed their expected pixels per tonnage. The only class that does so.

Increase size of ACH so everybody can kill at least one light in the game without needing to resort to hard training or easymode aimbotting .
I guess thats what the OP wants to really say to us, amIrite ?

How about shrinking the other IS light mechs to a more reasonable size? In my opinion no light should be any bigger than the arctic cheatah. The cheatah and the firestarter are practically the same design wise, why the firestarter not scaled the same? Don't even get me started with the jenner. Nobody in their right mind is going to take a Jenner F into a fight and turn out good damage. I mean how the hell could you miss that giant CT? We need a decal that says shoot me here!

The problem arose during the volumetric siziing of the mechs. Way too much emphasis was placed on the profile of a mech as opposed to its height and width. The ACH is a thicker mech than the Firstarter. This, with the over emphasis of the depth of a mech, led to exaggerated height and width of many IS lights.

Who cares about the size of the mech? The hitboxes need SERIOUS adjusting.
I was just in a match, and I wish I were joking, where I put 3 salvos of 3 lpls each directly into an ACH that WAS NOT MOVING. I was 100m away. It may have been shut down. I was, near as I could figure, hitting CT.
All 3 lpls are in the same location. I also was not moving. I did get hits, per my red cross hair.
Did it die? No. Did I get a component destroyed message? No.
Tell me one light mech that can survive 99 damage to one location without losing that location. By the numbers, that should have been enough to annihilate the ACH, per LSML, an ACH has total (armor +structure) of 60hp CT, 42 LT/RT (ACH-A/B gets 7 more structure per side torso, but still)
Edit: In another example of ACH's needing to be fixed, and again I wish I were joking, picture me in an urbie facing an ACH about 30m away, neither of us moving (he had just run into a wall, as had I).
I unload 2 salvos of spl into him with my cross hairs centered on his torso. Nothing. No hits, no damage. Meanwhile, he is ripping me apart. Yeah, this is working. (admittedly, on the 2nd salvo, we had both started to slowly back up, but still, centered xhair). Based on my firing at other mechs moments before, I did not appear to be lagging at all.

Make all mechs exactly the same height and width. In fact, just change them all to one single chassis with 100+ variants to keep it "balanced".

You're comparing a 35 ton mech to a 30 ton mech, try the spider instead.

the size of a mech should be equal to its tonnage...there is no reason the locust (20 tons) and the kit fox (25 tons) which is double its size...the cheat is fine..
