The Penalty System: It's straight up broken.
It penalizes me for trying to compensate for the missing HUD glitch by leaving a match and jumping right back in and fixing it.
It penalizes me for getting stuck in the drop-ship.
It keeps saying that I am commuting team kills or whatever, but all I did was get glitched.

I'm sick of the system slapping me in the face as if I'm being some ashat killing my own team mates or purposely throwing the match. I'm also sick of having my rewards stripped from me because YOUR GAME is GLITCHED, not my fracking playstyle.

I was on Grim Portico one match and got in an epic brawl with a Phoenix Hawk and several other mechs. Somehow I ended up out of bounds (barely) and got killed for being OOB. Then, at the end of the match, even though I'd done 3k damage with 7 kills I didn't get any C-bills for the win. Just a snotty message telling me that killing myself wasn't profitable. Posted Image

Dumb rules are dumb.

You can thank the brainiacs that decided its a good idea to mass suicide via oob when dropped vs. 12 man.

How often do you kill yourself?

Well reading these forums makes me WANT to kill myself a lot. But I usually don't. Every now and then I kill myself through overheating in game. Didn't know there was any penalty associated with that other than the -1 or w/e at the end of the game.

I usually crash once a night (there was a stretch where it went bonkers, because, Cryengine crap), and get asked to make a crash report etc.

So, I struggle to get in within 2 minutes. Get in, fight it out (even if it takes -5- retries if it has gone full derp), and for my troubles and a crash report or 5 later... though sometimes it won't acknowledge it bugsplatted, hardlocks and really requires me rebooting and THEN coming back to the match in some less common situations.

Apparently Cryengine just doesn't like certain drivers or some goofiness as it's common in other Cryengine games, though these issues were never around until 3 or so patches ago on my side (MWO patches, coulda been a Windows update that ****** it all up too). Literally had never seen them for -years- in MWO. Rather annoying.

No earnings. + a Timeout penalty for the group. After the crashes, getting back in and fighting out the rest of the match because, **** it, I got in just over 2 minutes, or if it's bad, longer.

So I can feel ya. It's very insult to injury when the game itself goes "OOPS! Our game Crashed! Here's a double nutpunch for the trouble". I find 2 minutes to be too low to get back in time even in optimal conditions, but then, I'm not on a spectacular computer.

I've never gotten a timeout from being on deaths door, overriding and getting in my last licks in a match that I'm aware of: it seems to understand you were shooting and dealing damage before you went boom, vs did nothing and ejected. Oops and too much team damage, pretty rare too given the amounts it takes. "Oops, the game ****** up, have the middle finger because of bugs", every damn time.

the dropship bug usually fixes itself after 30 seconds. its just the game spawns you before the ship is in position and takes you for a ride to its hiding space to do horrible things to your chassis. hud glitches can be fixed by hitting escape or switching to map/score views (and theres a hotkey i think to fix glitches). shutdown and restart your mech sometimes helps. if nothing else works then you have to relog. a relog shouldnt penalize you if you get back in 2 minutes. i can reboot the computer and restart the game in 2 minutes.

if you have to do it twice you get penalized again, i dont think the counter resets when you get back in. also the server issues they were having resulted in a lot of players dropping in multiple games simultaneously and getting penalized for it. makes me wonder if this explains the incredibly high drop rate in this game and this only magnified the problem. i do appreciate all the free head shots though.

When we first started this competition, some of our guys were being slapped with ten-minute penalties, without having killed their own, or even shot their own team members...

At least that got fixed.

This is not a glitch. It's a "feature." That's what we call it when PGI says there's nothing wrong and everything is working as intended.

Taking damage in the dropship is the server's way of helping to balance what would otherwise be a spawnfarm. Just think of it that way.
