Nay for me... it isn't so much the skill tree though as it is the lack of mobility on Assault mechs even when fully specced into the mobility tree. I Mean yeah the skill tree is a hot mess and horribly designed, and inferior to the prior one even with the worthless pinpoint skill, but i could likely live with that if the bigger problem of the agility de couple didn't exist. Brawling is completely dead and my favorite mech the Spirit Bear is unpilotable.

Hmm thats strange, which assault? My Maulers are WAY more mobile now, so much so that I don't even take speed tweak on a std300....just accel/decel + twist/turn.

A big Yay. It may look complicated at first sight, but its pretty standard if you know what to do with your Mechs. Apparently the most common reason why people dislike it is," Its to complicated/its to much work"... I mean srsly, you do it one time and its not really that difficult to understand.Maybe the first time is, but then its pretty easy.

Overall nay.

I feel like it got pushed out a little too fast and that PGI isn't willing to fix the core mechanical problems with the system. Throw in a bunch of nerfs to many sub-par mechs despite the fact that the skill tree buffs everybody by the same amount and I don't feel like overall good progress was made.

Even with only limited experience on live servers, I'm gonna have to say
Yay.

The change has been made, may as well put on your heavy boots and deal with it.. oh, and your brown pants.. ;)

Pants are overrated; make your enemies deal with it.

Crush your pants, drive the skill tree before you, hear the lamentations of the spectators!

Nay for overcomplexity. New players will be just confuse. MWO not very popular game, we all new it, now we just lose more potential new playerbase at all. And nay fore more disbalance.

Can I say Nayay? I can see the good and bad on both sides.

While I do prefer the new tree, it's a frigging chore to reskill and adapt to the new stuff. I've logged in two days now, reskilled 3 mechs, and played 1 match. I look at the rest of my hangar and go "Sigh". There's simply to much work for little gain. I wish we could have some kind of templates we could save and load for skills. Also ... all these variants of XP and SP and GXP and HSP ... I'll add my three letters here: OMG! I'm an adult, I have RL chores ... gaming shouldn't be one of them.

But I can see how this new system is preferable and entertaining by new players. It's just bad for us veterans.

I like the tech tree however i think it should be no more than 100 nodes total and you should be able to select like 50.

Nay on the UI, it's just a hot mess and needs to be cleaned up and not so temp looking.

Nay on the skills. Logged in to check them out then 15 mins later logged out because I went full white girl and couldn't even.

Nay.

This is a bloated mess that increases the threshold you need to get involved in the game by dozens of hours. The only gain that it bestows is giving veteran players with enough skill points accumulated fully tricked out mechs that they can bash on new players with. And that is not really a gain, it is actually a horrible thing.

New players and even veterans are now faced with having to make 91 choices (in addition to just the basic mech lab loadout!!) on each mech. Talk about choice paralysis.

Here's the thing: you don't need to improve a stock mech to still enjoy the game. But if other guys are out there with fully tricked out mechs while you are in a stock mech, you are not going to have a good time.
