Radar deprivation module has made many of you lazy and forgetful about what to do against a LRM boat.

....and it wasn't just potatoes who got caught in the rain last night... you know you who you are... git gud again lol.

So the actual point of this post is.... maybe some skills should be restricted to some classes?
eg: Radar derp for lights only.

What's funny is that LRM's where bad before radar derp, but as you said it seems everyone got used to crutching it up. I have naught but lols for those who suffer now :)

My god Lord orion, do it right ! get rid of the back up weapons and tag for more ammo, getting locks is someone else's job !

people need to lrn what always having cover nearby is about, cept polar/alpine/boreal attack where it gets a bit more dicy.

not enough ammo cause carrying BAP (that Artemis seems suspicous as well since it wasted tonnage under the old system but with the ammo boosts it might be viable, testing that right now so can not make a final determination yet)... #NotImpressed

Eh, I've always thought the Mad Dog was a little too fragile for brawling, especially since it's a 60 tonner. No, I think I'll run it with LRMs as it's primary weapons. Perhaps having some ERMLs thrown in for self defence at close range would be a good idea.

Not really much of a point in bringing that many tubes without the ammo to back it up, which you need a lot of as an LRM boat.

Also XL engine in an Awesome = puke.

Here's a build Here's a better build with less total firepower but it actually has enough ammo for the tubes it has and more importantly no XL engine.

His build is perfect (I take 2 more tons of ammo instead of the beagle, and 2 more tons instead of the lasers, which comes down to personal choice, yours is a joke... the mech has LRM15 SPECIFIC QUIRKS which is what makes it the best IS missile boat.

... yours has 1 more ton of ammo than his..... WITHOUT THE 2 SLOT BAP he has.... so yours really doesnt have more ammo.

LRM15 have the best missile spread to size and best tonnage to size.

Its a support mech and positioning at 300 meters directly behind your brawlers is where it should be, his goes faster than yours allowing him to support team easier. The XL is better, you need more speed to stay positioned well with your teams protection. Learn to protect your shoulders by twisting incoming damage.

Your welcome. You can now enjoy having a better mech that will put out a lot more damage and might actually kill a mech instead of stripping all its arm and leg armor before running out of ammo.

If you ever do FP/CW dont bring a LURM boat to any map besides POLAR, Boreal (defence only) or ALPINE. Every other map has too much cover people can easily hide behind.

I let other people get away with bringing lurms to the wrong maps coz #potato'sneverlearn but now you have been educated I will shoot you till your dead on other maps if you bring lurms.

Hope you have a wonderful day/evening. 07

Except having a mech with LRM100 that still does over 80kph is kinda funny.

I will not recommend using an assault chassis for LRMs in general... except the AWS 8R.

In nearly any other case you will probably get more opertunities to fire on targets of higher value/necessity in a Kintaro or Hunchback.

The 8R is an exception to my usual rule.

I guess I was mistakenly under the impression that weapon quirks were more or less gone, so imagine my surprise seeing LRM15 quirks still there.

My bad for thinking PGI actually followed through with getting rid of weapon quirks LOL.

The build I posted is still better if not for that though, since:

1) BAP is a waste of tonnage & space for LRMs since its effective range for countering ECM is not a range you want to be at for LRMs unless you want to get rushed down easily and completely neutered, and it's not worth bringing for its other benefits if you're not going to be countering ECM with it.

2) It doesn't matter if you're using slightly less tonnage efficient LRM10 launchers if you don't have the ammo to justify more tubes, and guess what 7 tons isn't enough for 60 tubes; have fun getting 1 or 2 kills and being useless the rest of the match due to no ammo if that's how you want to play though.

3) LRM10 still has less spread than LRM15 even if LRM15 has "the best missile spread to size"--whatever the **** that's supposed to mean, which I don't know what it is since that's exceedingly vague and dubious--so no it actually doesn't make sense that LRM10 would be less efficient at killing targets.

4) It doesn't have a pukeworthy XL engine on a chassis which is atrociously unsuited for XL engines.

5) It's not any slower since the engine rating is the same; get some reading comprehension.

It also turns out that you can just swap the 4x ALRM10 for 3x ALRM15 with no problem, so just do that and it's still fundamentally the same except a bit better due to a little bit more firepower and the LRM15 quirks.

LRM 15 spread is now the same as LRM 20 spread. In the same vein 5s and 10s now have the same spread

Maddog Prime used to be the only mech in the game that had a +20% missile velocity quirk.
Thanks to the skill tree, there are numerous mechs that can reach that number.
That enhancement is the most important one when it comes to LRMs.
