Some Clarification On Uac Jam Nodes Please?

Is it a a whole % reduction on the base jam chance (so investing in 2 nodes of 5% total will reduce the jam chance from the default 17% to 12%)?
Or is it a measly 5% of the base 17%, hence reducing the jam chance from 17% to like 16.2% (lol)?
If it's the former (which I was under the impression is how it works), then it's perhaps worth the investment. Otherwise it's a complete waste of time if the latter and I need to go make and reskill some of my dakka mechs.
Also wouldn't mind knowing how it stacks with existing jam quirks that some mechs have like the JM6-DD and SMN.

It is 5% of 17%. JM6-DD has -20% jam chance quirk. Skill tree buffs it to -25%. So instead of saving you 1/5 of the time, now it saves you 1/4 of the time, in case of Jager.
The way additive quirks work, the more jam reduction quirk you have, better the skill tree jam reduction will work for you.
Which means theoretically Wolverine-7D benefits from it the most, especially when IS UAC10 comes out.

Yep, before patch dakka kodiak could stand the ground. Now, even with those skills it just locks up on everything way too often. Not to mention other mechs like dakka EBJ... Seriiously, I understand reason for ballance but this is just sad.

Thanks for that. Second time I have heard this now.
Makes me debate the usefulness of such nodes. I honestly didnt notice ~much~ of any difference even on quirked mechs like the Jaeger. So basically it is a very very weak skill.
