I can't get the brawling Spirit Bear (4 C-SRM-6, 1 C-LB-20X) to work. I've taken it out a few times and got miserably outmaneuvered or outbrawled with it. Prior to skill tree it was one of the premier brawling assaults and I had quite a few 900-1000 damage games under my belt. Now I feel like I can't even turn to shield before I lose a torso.

Anyone having luck or am I right in pronouncing it dead?

Anyone try out any new builds now that it turns like molasses even with full mobility tree?

You don't?

It twists as bad as every Atlas no matter how big it's engine is.

At which point, why not just take an AS7-S with a better ballistic and some built in structure quirks?

All for the price of like, 8kph.

yep just use an atlas lol

they need to significantly buff masc for spirit bear to work again

masc is pretty weaksauce I feel they need to double the duration it lasts before leg damage. you can generally get away with masc lasting 2 turns in tabletop so that should be 20 second in MWO.

buffing masc would give the spirit bear back decent speed/agility for short durations of time

MASC is not the problem.

Executioner is 4x as agile as the Spirit Bear.

Yeah I respecced the tree twice, wasting time and money. I don't think MASC is such a gamebreaking piece of equipment that the mech needs to get the same agility as a DWF.

I keep thinking I'll try it as an LRM boat but haven't had the courage to yet.

Its a 90 ton assault with agility rates of a 60 ton heavy mechs and it never had quirks to drop.

Its going to be everywhere soon, I see it replacing a lot of splat boats and even the atlas brawler with ac20+srm.

well until they nerf it haha

Made a thread about it here: https://mwomercs.com...o-proof-inside/

And a video here:

And as a means to deal with my pain over this, I found it cathartic to write out all acc/dec rates as follows to point out how insane all of this is:

Finally, I hope if we make a enough noise, something will be changed and improved...not just for the Spirit Bear, but ALL 100 ton mechs. Personally, I love facing King Crabs, Atlas', and Dire Wolves and believe they all have been unfairly nerfed into the ground.

The Executioner should be more agile than the spirit bear though, working as intended.

My Spirit Bear has been pushed to the back lines when she used to lead the charge and wreck face.

If you decided to make the SB as sluggish as an Atlas then PLEASE give it decent armor quirks also or at least SOME. PLEASE!

Pretty please? I paid alot of money for her and her sisters... now they are all high maintenance.

Why would you buy a Scorch now that it is getting nerfed in the next update?

Buy a mechbay and then buy an executioner of choice. It's got a smaller payload available but is much faster and still has the MASC. It will require you to change u0 your expectations a bit.

You just play it with a 375xl and add 2 LPLs. Firepower, survival, ops and utility (coolshot) and ignore mobility. More firepower than an Atlas, you run it like a bomber just like the other assaults.

You can't play it lime you used to but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. The extra structure on the Atlas is worthless if you get caught flat footed. SB has more total firepower and is a bit faster but less health, but mostly higher mounts.
