Right now everything is so completely broken that i dont even want to play =(
This baseline acceleration thing is the worst thing by far right now but incorperating the unlocked enhancements from the previous mastery system into the skill tree is a game breaking mistake.
I always felt like mechs started off completely broken and were normalised over time as you mastered the mechs, like it was an rpg element, even if you know how to pilot a mech your avatar is not familiar with this mech and cant fight well in it without practicing.
But what youve done is treat those bonuses as though they were perks and diluted them into the skill tree so now even mastered mechs are gimped, you can never unlock them.
What you should have done is made the mastered status the base stat and then allowed skill tree perks to enchance from that point.
Do we really need massive changes to lasers and a bunch of new weapons in a few weeks time?
You must be insane, its going to take at least until christmas to get this skill thing ironed out.
This was in no condition to go live, i really dont think you appreciate how much stuff you have broken.
I hope you can fix it.

The "good news" is this isn't broken... its by design... apparently slow acc/dec/turn is the new orange or black or something... and not being able to move your mechs out of the line of fire helps TTK...

Just dont plan on running any of your mechs until they fix them "maybe"
for now jump over to
https://mwomercs.com...eference-sheet/
Pick some of the high number mechs for example the linebacker. I just got one of these today its very nice.
Maybe the grasshopper as its going ot same as medium mechs for some reason.
Over all i think i would take a 2 month break if it wasn't for mrbc.

My thoughts are, if this is a STARTING point then, yeah, maybe okay... but, to have put a lot of time into it and to have come up with this, is disappointing.
I think most MWO players will agree with the initial idea of the new skill tree, it needs streamlining so less choices (I mean, a whole tree for Jumpjets, HA!!) and to remove the web to some extent. Even adding attributes in a bar system would be better right now. Also, some of the base elements of the mechs should be bumped up. Advanced zoom should probably be standard on all mechs (I swear it was in MW4 etc) so that what we're really choosing is between Tankier, Punchier, Stealthier, Smarter and Supportier.. (yeah, I made that word up). So we would keep things like Range and even Enhanced speed (except the speed tweak @ 10% would already be a baseline meaning the further tweak would be another 10%) yada yada,..
This would mean you get a real choice in which flavour you choose. There could also be a couple of weapon type specific nodes too, but all of this depends on having the right number of nodes and the right tree/charts.
As it stands, (and I tested this on some lower tier mechs like my Dragon 5N) this hasn't really delivered anything apart from maybe the ability to make mechs a bit tankier at the expense of speed, except as all good players will know, this game is largely about movement.
Sigh..

What are you smoking?
Most of us want TTK to UP not down. We want mechs to take longer to kill and when you can't properly twist and shield you die faster.
