Uh, i know, ChaosGrinder is not the best of names but i got that during long nights of playing lan games and doing ****. It´s origin lies deep within my career as a bad starcraft2 player, where i, just to grief my teammates, farmed their minerals and gas. Wich normally lead to a harsh defeat and heavy flame, but i enjoyed the grinding. The Chaotic grinding, *Ifyouknowwhatimean*

Not the best name for a girl, but it´s fitting more or less :D

I lived in japan for a number of years and my favorite word was sainamu (苛む), meaning to torment or torture a soul or spirit.

The other name that I almost went with was Ansatsu (暗殺), or ansatsusha (]暗殺者), meaning to assassinate or an assassin, respectively.

These are my two most common avatar names on other games.

"The Dream Seeker" is a song by the band Dragonland. They're one of my favourite bands and its one of my favourite songs so ya. I used to always think seeker was spelled seaker, so I just kept it :D

I've used the Nickname Fahr online since I first started using BBSs back in the 90's. It's a rather obscure reference to a character from "Elfquest" by Richard and Wendi Pini, The Characters in that series had "soul names" and Fahr is the soul name of my favorite.

my sig is something someone said in real life, and I always thought it appropriate to MW, and Shadowrun.

My pilot character's name, Kyone Akashi, is of course intended to be for someone of Japanese origin, the premier ethnicity within the Draconis Combine. With the family name, I followed anime director Hideaki Anno's trick of naming characters after warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, in this case a Suma-class cruiser.

The character's light battlemech is nicknamed "Azumi", which means "safe residence". It is a reference to the movie of the same name, although I intend to treat the movie like a myth or a legend rather than an entertainment program, using the passing of a thousand years and the general loss of knowledge as an explanation for how fiction can become regarded as history.

Lastly, my signature is stylized after the DCMS, House Kurita's military force. It contains part of a drawing I had commissioned for this character as well as the Japanese saying "ame futte ji katamaru" in traditional letters, which basically means "after rain the ground hardens", or "strength through perseverance", and hints at some of the Akashi family's hardships that this character is trying to overcome with her honorable service to the Dragon.

Mine means I'm awesome...

It's not original at all, in fact I stole it...

I've never played a single COD game until like 3 years ago, it was MW2(modernwarfare 2, not mechwarrior 2 xD). I went to a summer Tech summer camp for high schoolers to go and learn a specific field. It was called ID tech camp. You could choose programming (I did C++), robotics, web design, game development, game modding and so on. Well at the end of the day, when we had extra time, all the computers had MW2 on them, so we would all play huge matches against each other. I never played before so I kinda sucked at first but damn is that game easy. My usual username before this was Sean D`Blue, which has personal meaning to me, which I reserve for rpg's and stuff now. Well the profiles would only save per computer, so when we moved computers, I didn't want to start at rank 1 with no weapons. On this other computer, I was looking at the pre-existing profiles and Admiral Awesome happened to be the highest level and had a cool name. People didn't notice how good I was at this time, and suddenly in matches I was doubling the second highest persons points in kills and no one knew who "Admiral Awesome" was because I never told anyone that I decided to play that account. Everyone kept running around the room to find out who this Admiral Awesome was and so because of this, it kinda stuck with me. So yeah the name is stolen.

that was a mouthful, or a keyboard full or w/e

Archwright is the surname of a mercenary group I created over a decade ago. Since then, they've show up in almost every Science Fiction game I've ever run. Heavy Gear, Battletech, friggin' everything. This is also my handle in basically every game I play.

The signature? I really like PPCs and I really like boating. I have simple tastes.

Edit: This is not to say that I always boat or always use PPCs. I've always loved the PPC, ever since I first fired one in MW2. Boating makes life simple, but that level of simplicity is infrequently what is needed.

I wanted a name that sounded like an actual mechpilot's name, and I like lame puns.

Picked this name out of Battletech novels. Grey Noton was a solaris champion nicknamed "Legend Killer". He fought and beat Kai Allard Liao back in the day.

I was aware of Battletech growing up as a kid in the 80's. I even remember seeing a 12"-14" model of a Warhammer in a hobby shop. Then sometime in the early to mid 90's I watched a show that featured Virtual world, and the Battletech pods. I started reading the novels and source books in college. When I left school I bought MW2 and have been hooked by the game and universe ever since!

Initially I was enthralled with Clan Wolf, and the warden cause in general. As I have gotten older, I find that I cannot support the Clans, warden or otherwise. The ideal that the elite in a society are the elite because of eugenics, and the ideal of "perfection" is personally abhorrent to me. How do humans arrive at "perfection"? This is why I love Battletech. I love the moral and historical questions and parallels that are raised. On a personal level I find that many people do not know that the eugenics movement held sway here in the United States. Forced sterilizations, erasure and denial of cultural identity, all because people do not fit into neat little aesthetic categories. For those who are curious look up the racial integrity laws of the 1920's and 1930's. Pay particular attention to Virginia.

Having said all that I choose to fight as a Davion because Victor Davion is a leader I can respect. I however cannot stand Katrina! I chose the name Osis to represent those of the "Osis" background who are still in the inner sphere, never left the inner sphere, and refuse to be conquered by the Clans or the society they would wish to impose on humanity as the "ideal" society.

Wow, what a bunch of great names! As for me, I chose the name HuWanSum because I figured it will get me all the shooting I could possibly handle and then some. I mean anyone with the stupidity to pick a name like this needs to be ganged up on and sent up in a cloud of smoke. lol. I love this game!!
