Is There A Toxicity Issue?

10 second penalty for excessive team damage, but so worth it.
Also had a guy in a Highlander IIC who the second we dropped, set override and fired off LRM's 'til he blew up. Why? Because, and I quote him directly, "I don't play tourmaline".
Why do these idiots always seem to be piloting assaults?

That, and in the case of teamkilling, they allow you to get away with it longer due to being a tougher target.

I stopped responded immediately and I have reported him twice for toxicity and unconstructive. Hope he get the banhammer because PGI can look into his chat log that match.

I then shot back at his assault since I was limping along in a Spider barely into the Basic Skill Tree, he finished my mech. He got reported, I doubt much was done for it. Well done *******, because legging a mech you don't like helps the team far more than having a full 12 player team. Troll logic for the win!

On my team last week, there were only 2 assaults on Frozen City. Me in my Atlas D brawling build, and an Atlas DDC with a LRM15+20 + 2 LL (didn't even have ecm, which it the whole point of the DDC over other options). I led the push across the valley (in a good spot where we weren't targeted by the enemy) while he stayed in the back. I got into the thick of the brawl, doing about 600 damage, having 2 kills, 6 assists, 3 KMDDs before I died. I decided to spectate him while simultaneously telling him Atlas mechs should never have LRMs, except 1 LRM10 if the rest of the build is okay (2-3 SRM 6 (a) and an AC/20 or AC/10). He said I was a noob because I died before him and should just uninstall the game. Meanwhile he was plinking away with his LLs beyond their maximum range and firing his LRMs at targets behind solid cover. So, I told him "You're going to be eating your words when you see our score comparison". At the end of the match (victory), he had 280 damage, 1 kill, and 3 assists. He promptly told me "**** you, you must of hacked the game" then disconnected.

Most stay AFK until the match ends, or they get blown up.
I've had a couple apologize for it, and join in mid match. I assume they had some real life thing, like a phone call, or doorbell or something else that always happens at the most inconvenient time.
I've also had my internet cut off the moment I got in to firing range of the enemies, which annoyed the heck out of me, and probably looked bad, and I felt bad for leaving my team with 1 less heavy. Not that I'm much good anyway.
I do get tired of people trying to walk through my Mech though. Especially if I'm in my Marauder, it's not like you can't see it. Lol

I've done it exactly 1 time where i purposefully dropped out of a QP match to jump into a group...I felt dirty. But there isn't enough of a penalty to keep me from doing it again. Just make the penalty last the duration of the previous game, that way people have no reason to quite.
Moving your controls or accelerating while the drop ships are dropping you can cause a crash disconnect.

2. Yes, if you email moderation@mwomercs.com and include video or screen caps such as of the battlegrid map showing them just sitting at the dropzone as the team is nearly all dead, and then they suddenly have sprung back to life and are going around killing the enemy. They KNOW who does this often from previous reports about them, and will do things about them when more reports show up.
This method does work as I've had to use it a few years ago. The player was widely known for just this but it took literately months. i can't recount the number of emails and screen shots I sent in. Eventually I just got recording software and made a video of the player from my cockpit recording a match start to finish of the player in vulture mode. It was common for the team to get this player to complain in team and all chat to the point he became a meme of "you got player X! sucks to be on the loosing team!"
What made this player so bad wasn't just the fact they did this in all game modes but that they were an atlas and full tier legendary founder in the founder atlas. Why any one would throw that away is hard for me to guess. I do every thing i can to play it safe and keep my status but even i have off days where a team gets rolled so bad in a 1-12 or 2-12 match. While I won't go hide til end of match I do try the power-off-enemy-walk-by trick because it some times works. Most often in those rolled matches I'll hit over ride and rambo the enemy in an attempt to take one with me.

I played one game of Dota 2, and will never play it again after that experience. Not only did I not enjoy the game play, the community represented by that match was astoundingly vile, immature, and petty. When they found out I was new (my brother and law let me play a game on his account to see if I was interested in it), VoIP immediately filled up with curses, death threats, etc. Once we turned VoIP off, the text chat then filled up with cursing and nonsense like "I hope somebody kills you." Yes, because that is a perfectly healthy, mature, and normal response to having a new player on your team in a video game.
We won the match, I wasn't the worst player on either team (ironic), and I'll never play that game again since, even if I did enjoy playing it, it's not worth spending time with such immature, vile, and hate-filled little monsters. Compared to that, MWO is a happy, peaceful paradise.

I cannot recall the exact event but the guys on coms in HPG going f-n,f-n,f-n, you dumb f-k, f you f f f was up there for me.
Next was having to listen to I----uul defend a guy’s choice of name as free speech. I had mentioned something about it because it’s link with child porn. I cannot even believe that PGI's name filters were not set to pick that up in the first place.
Either way that's fine. I am not going to uninstall or get mad. I realize that some people are sick but I did what most normal people would do. I just muted everything and put on Ministry.
After this they tried trolling me in chat, so I closed those windows to.
All we need is a mini map anyways and if I ever targeted anything or called a target it was only for the group. Life in the solo que has gotten ruff.
Mind you I was in a 30ty game losing streak which tends to bring out the worst in people but it will be a long time before I turn any sort of team chat on for anyone other than friends and we use discord anyway.
So see you in game but I have decided “too much talk is boring”. I know this is not the majority of players on MWO but there were lines crossed here.

One guy started off, before we'd dropped with "another drop another lose" and other demoralizing crap, then went under an on-ramp (on River City) and shutdown, leaving us a Linebacker down and basically losing us the match.
Another rolled a frikkin MAD-IIC and shutdown behind a building, leaving us an assault down and losing us the match.
This seems to be a theme to several games I've played recently, and I've not encountered it in anywhere near as much abundance as I have today.
Two questions:
1. Has anyone else noticed this, or have I just been lucky up until now?
2. Is there actually any proper repercussions from reporting a player? Just wondering if it's worth bothering.
I think there's a PGI issue and a teamwork issue.
People go nuts mainly because the teams are unbalanced in terms of skill and mechs (PGI).. Also, some people, particularly new players do not know how to use the map, work as a team, coordinate etc..
The latter issue can be mostly dealt with by dealing with the former, but it depends on PGI doesn't it.. If these things were ironed out, over time, most flaming in game would stop. Mine would for sure!
As it stands, Matchmaker is effectively off, driving population down, leading to less effective Matchmaker, leading matchmaker to be effectively off, driving population down, leading to less eff....

Yeah for a PVP game that involves most parties dying in a "good" game, it is surprisingly tame.
