Yea this has been an issue for a while now on Crimson, the VIP always gets stuck there. I'd probably assume it'll be fixed in the next patch or so.

Possible explanation: Instead of a preset course, PGI accidentally implemented a sorry excuse for an AI from a development build.

That said, randomly selecting from prebuilt paths would make more sense to me, but I guess that's why I'm not a game maker

AI isn't easy, it wouldn't have to be a "sorry excuse for an AI" to have bugs...
Granted, a „true AI“ (or rather that what nowadays is considered one) is very hard to get right. But the VIP in Escort mode is basically doing nothing apart from pathfinding.
That is the most basic AI concept you can think of. Heck, even 23 years ago in school, we programmed a pathfinding algorithm (won't be so bold as to call it AI) with LiSP and Prolog.
But: sooner or later, even PGI will have to enter the AI/pathfinding market for real - or MW5 won't be much fun shooting sitting ducks in the guise of mechs, won't it?

Push it up the bank back onto the road, he starts moving again.
