Hello, I realize this is probably a duplicate post and I apologize in advance. I haven't played in a couple weeks and logged on to find a huge change to skills & XP. I'm completely lost.

I had 90 or so mechs fully leveled up unlocking the extra module slot. Now all of that is gone and there's some conversion table that I don't understand at all.

As far as I can tell here are 5 currencies now instead of the 3 before:
1. Cbills - same
2. MC - same
3. GSP - ?
4. SP - ?
5. GXP - same
6. HXP - ?

My questions:

When I open the skill tree i see a purple box w/historic HXP that I guess I should convert to XP?
Do I have to do that with every mech?

What's the difference between GSP & SP? I see 0/91 nodes active, 0/237 skills unlocked. Are those global or per mech?

Does that mean I can only unlock 91 hexagons total 237 available across the 7 skill trees?

When I unlock a hexagon, what currency is used?

I'm sure I have a bunch more questions, I just don't know where to start. If there's a FAQ or if someone posted a guide, can someone point me to it?

thank you!

Convert HSP not HXP, 91 per mastered mech. Trees are per individual mech. SP if you dont have HSP or use GSP cost 45k cbills and 800 XP/GXP/HXP. You can only have 91 nodes active but you can buy up to the max number of nodes. You can swap out bought nodes for a 400 xp/hxp/gxp cost per node.

Check patchs notes for full explanation. It's very comprehensive and clear.

Here is a quick rundown of the currencies and what they can do:
  • GSP - unlock node on any mech. Given as of the module refund from the old system
  • SP - unlock node on a specific mech.
  • HSP - unlock node on a specific mech. Given as part of the conversion based on what nodes you had unlocked in the old tree
  • HXP/XP + CBills - unlock a node on a specific mech.
  • HXP/XP - activate a previously unlocked node on a specific mech.
  • GXP + CBills - unlock a node on any mech.
  • GXP - activate a previously unlocked node on any mech.
As a general rule you should use HSP first because that can only be used on that specific mech. If you need to unlock more nodes you can than use either GSP or HXP/XP/GXP+CBills depending how many GSP you got refunded. GSP work on any mech so it always better you use up your mech specific currencies(HSP, XP, HXP) before dipping into the global ones(GSP, GXP).

Ok. Each mech has a tree of over 200 nodes that you can unlock. At any one time you can use 91 nodes of your choice. HSP is skill points direct that come from your previous mastery of the mech. Use HSP first. HXP is historical XP that can be used to either buy more skill points or be used as a "currency" for switching skill tree loadouts.

Once a node is bought / unlocked you keep it forever but if you turn that node off, turning it back on costs about 400xp (HXP / GXP / mech XP)

Plenty of guides linked above ^

Going to try to answer questions as directly as possible

You should probably convert HSP first before anything. 1 HSP = 1 SP, without anything additional, and that will let you unlock nodes. A mastered mech should have 91 HSP.

Unfortunately, yes.

SP is skill points assigned to a particular mech. GSP is global skill points, which can be used to purchase SP for a particular mech at a 1:1 ratio with no additional currency. Active and unlocked nodes are on a per mech basis (not per chassis/per variant. per mech.)

You can only have 91 nodes active at any time. You can, if you wish, unlock all 237 nodes, but each new unlock costs 1 SP, and if you want to reactivate something after having deactivated it so you can unlock a new node (because you are limited to 91 active at a time and new unlock = automatically active), it will cost 400xp per node to reactivate.

SP. SP Can be acquired by spending GSP or HSP at 1:1 (use HSP first), or by spending XP of any variety (HXP, GXP, or mech XP) and Cbills at a cost of 800 XP + 45,000 Cbills per SP.

Guides have already been linked.
