uhm... no. It's dead. It was a dead end since 2012.

It is not that I really like the way the new tree is implemented, but at least there is some choice and actual *tree* in it. Just needs (a lot) work and fine tuning.

As my Father told me, "Want/wish in one hand and sh*t in the other, see what one fills up faster"

Reversion is not going to happen.

Hell no.
Also OP would probably do a poll in "feedback and suggestions", and post a link to it ITT. And there should be two options, (bring back old "skill straight line") and (keep the new one and work on it)

I see your T4 and understand your concerns.

the game is horribly complicated already new, casual and lesser skilled palyers have troubles building mas undertsanding the emchancis and all that. Now slapping this skilltree ontop is like overkill. Lets be honest, no Mechwarrior game ever was that complex at all.

This is going to hurt FW most, since here an entire dropdeck (or multipls) for various situations are needed and ontop it has no matchmaking. The result is a abyss like gap between those casuals and newbies and noobs compared to core palyers and top players. And abyss that the skill tree just ripped further openby a good bunch.

I doubt the old system will ever come back, the better question therefor eis, how can we make the new skill tree system much more newbie friendly.

Signed.

Won't happen though.

a) PGI doesn't read.
B) PGI doesnt care.
c) Some people love that mess

Engine decoupling has to go too but points a-c also apply here.

yes please. Give players choice to choose between the two for individual mechs. default to old skill system until player chooses to take the time to use new skill system

Yeah that's not how this works. Bad temporary system was bad and temporary.

By that standard the old system was massively worse since it required 3 'Mechs for each Mastered one, two of which were either two heavy or non-viable for a FW deck in the first place, plus modules on each 'Mech on the deck since no swapping. 18 million extra per 'Mech there to play optimally, not counting substitute 'Mechs or decks. 100 million Cbills beyond your 4 'Mechs in order to play them optimally is quite plausible and 200 million is within reach for a heavy Clan deck.

Think how ridiculous that looks if you don't have years invested in the game.

Remove the grind named it as 3mechs rule or skill tree spec and respec, grind is tedious for all except koreans maybe and keep the optimization (example I fire 7 lasers at same time, I need better cooling and similar), more simplicity would be make the game funnier without removing the strategic gameplay which is its real selling point.

I'm for returning the previous Skill/Modules system, but it's not gonna happen. Spending anymore money on this iteration of the game is simply not logical, I will wait to see what Mechwarrior 5 brings to the table and what changes will be incorporated to MWO when it transfers to the engine and becomes basically integrated with MW5. In the mean time, I have Battletech coming out, there is still Mechcommander to satisfy my BT/MW needs.
