Finished it early this morning. Slept on the beach. PGI thanks. I never really thought about the Linebacker before this. Empty Mech bays doubled to 40. I complain all the time about the bays being filled. This should last a while. Best of luck to my fellow players and I hope you Memorial Day weekends were respectively nice.

Urgh this event is horrible..... It's another one of those clan assault mechs parking behind friendlies and shooting through them events.

The points you earn are match score, not match XP. Therefore you most probably earned around 1k points...

I'm well aware of that; I was at 6,555 matchscore previously, now I am at 8,027 after scoring a cumulative total of 1,472 matchscore in those 5 battles.

Thanks for the nice event.

The LURMs are real, so invest in Radar Derp or AMS.

I spent more time leveling up some new mechs and understanding more about the new skill tree - it also brought new roles to some of my dusty mechs (I am looking at you, Dragon).

Have fun all! And enjoy the rewards.

The prizes are amazeballs.

I do admit that I was a bit scared at first, seeing the 10k requirement, but I'm mediocre at my very best and I only have like 650 points to grind. Even though I missed a day.

Can't wait for the colors AND THE LINEBACKER =)

This one got a little grindy toward the end, but a nice event nonetheless.

By the way, I'm very pleased that AMS now provides match score. It's a great way to counter the post-ST lurmageddon and pad that match score. ;-)

Decently adds as I missed that?

If that's the case, then why is premium time listed as being 50% off on the front page?
SALE ITEMS!
  • 50% off 7, 30, 180, and 360-day Active Premium Time
  • 50% off Select One shot Camos
    • Urban Block, Woodland, Tiger, Mountain Line, Digital, Sherman, and Polygon.
  • 50% off Mech Bays

I think it's just the MC cost for Premium time, not when you buy it for cash. Because I know that i year of premium for cash isn't 208, or if it is then I've totally misread it for a while.

Strange I was in a BLR-2C using LPL and mostly targeting within my 428m optimal with almost no friendly fire. Coincidentally, also averaged 428 match score through the event. ;)

In fact I saw quite a lot of IS assaults and 70-75 ton heavies as the skill tree has helped certain mechs (at least until we see the requirking in June etc).

Thanks for the event and sale PGI... new paints, decal, cool bling, 25 new mechbays (one even came with a free mech lol), oh and I bought far too many 1 shot camos :/

Also many thanks to all the dedicated lurmers who showed up dispite all the AMS, wish there had been more of you.. still my cutefox throughly appreciated all ya missiles and the bonus score of those of you who did! (And I didn't have a lot of game time so it was super helpful, and surprisingly fun to play storm (missile) chaser)

I gotta say, this event is one of the more fun ones.. Basically you get rewarded TONS (65 tons to be exact ;-) ) of stuff for persistence..

Cose' match score will add up, no matter how badly or great you play, so you just gotta keep playing and no matter what you do, if you are persistent, you will win a bunch of cool stuff..

And it's all nice in American themes.. aliens, razer dice, USA flags, flag colors and star decal, the most USA of all the mechs - the football icon Linebacker..

Its cool..

I gotta say.. sweet event..

Do it.

I bought 5 mechs I was not going to buy until after civil war just so I could save MC painting them >_<

Should I get a archer 5W (Splat), dragon 5N (??), a cataphract 4x (Ac20/PPC) ? a Phoenix hawk 1b (dual ppc)catapult a1(splat)?

not getting - enforcer, kintaro, trebuchet, vindicator, wolverine, orion, highlander, stalker, victor, zeus.
Unless someone convinces me I should

I had a blast playing this event. I will say that LRMs are now much more effective than they were in the past. I guess that because most are not investing skill points to get radar dep? I also like that AMS seems much more effective.

I also didn't think the Linebacker would be as good as I have found it to be. So I liked getting the free one. I like it some much I may have to add a couple more to my collection now.

I did something a little unconventional with the skill tree for mine, at least I think it is unconventional.

Here is the build I played: Linebacker-Prime Build
Here is how I skilled it: Linebacker-Prime Skill Tree

I chain fire the ERPPC (actually have torso set to FG1, and Arm set to FG2) and fire the SSRM-4s together on FG3.
The skill tree I decided to try and go mostly mobility, speed, heat management, and survivability.
I wasn't sure if it would work well, but I feel like a light weight medium or heavy weight light when moving. I can take a bit of damage as well, and I can fire almost constantly without over heating (as long as I chain fire the ERPPC).
I play it like a brawler/skirmisher, but can still poke a bit at range.

I can't imagine that this build is even close to meta, but it has been very effective, and is fast becoming one of my favorites to play.

I may adjust the skill tree a bit to reduce lock on times, but with the ERPPC's disabling EMC at close range locks happen pretty quick anyway.

I would not rule out the Enforcer. It is not top tier, but I find it very effective. I like the mist of speed and firepower it can provide and it is tanky for a 50 tonner. It is one of my favorite IS Mediums.

I would second this. Between the hunchback and the Enforcer, you have good variety at the 50 ton level, especially for FP dropdeck considerations...

@PGI: Thank you for the event and rewards, even though match score grinding did take a while due to some really nasty 0-12 / 1-12 matches.
