It seems wrong that Streaks do not function vs base objectives in Incursion Mode, and are completely blocked in Escort by enemy flag points. Also you cannot shot turrets with streaks in either mode.

Honestly there should not be a weapon system that cannot target an objective.

did not notice on escort but you feel like a real dope having a streak boat when you play Incursion Mode

I just want to just disco but then you get an automatic penalty

seems the streaks are the most hated weapon in the game even the devs think so

Automatic hits on things and a range advantage over other SRMs = too great an advantage for the modes so turrets are no longer lockable neither are base buildings. Just haul a few batteries and then get to killing mechs with them. I did this a few days ago during a polar incursion game.

Incidently you CAN trick the streaks into firing to damage base buidlings. Stand right up to the target structure, lock an enemy on the other side of it and then fire. The buildings/turrets will be in the path and take the hits same as a friendly mech who might cut across the missile's flight path would in a brawl.

That applies to Clan streaks, IS streaks have same range as SRM.

allow streaks to dumbfire, all be it with wild flight patterns and spread up the wazoo. you can still hurt target structures but only at point blank range.

also the nerf was more to keep lrms from ending the game from a klick away provided a spotter was in the base. it only hurt streaks because pgi likes shotgun nerfs.

It is also not fair that streaks hardcounter light mechs. So cry me a river

The reason why streaks cannot shoot incursion targets is that they use the same locking mechanics as LRMs, and LRMS artillerizing a base before you even got in was a bit of an issue. Piggy "fixed" it by making incursion targets un-lock-on-able.

It seems reasonable, except I see at least one scenario that it would be wrong. In a game where you are the last man standing, you could not compete the objective because you were a streak only mech.

Secondly the fact that you can not kill turrets that are killing you is also ridiculous. In Escort mode this means you have to just keep away from them and the flag points or die without being able to return fire.

I do recall my first time in a streak crow in incursion, we did so well in the battle against enemy mechs however by the time I got to the enemy base I couldnt do anything and was killed by a turret!

(Wish I had thought of that trick to get streaks to fire at turrets, nice one for thatPosted Image )
