so by the physics of Paul, if you put the same amount of ammo in full 1 ton bins instead of twice the amount of 0.5 tons bins you SOMEHOW end up with MORE AMMO

because OF COURSE when you put together two half full glasses of water you dont end up with one full glass, some extra water is created in the process

If you have the ammo quirks, seeing as they add moar ammo per ton it is conceivable that putting in half ton ammo can add up to more overall ammo, this is PGI after all.

The 0.5 ammo boxes sometimes have a number indivisible by 2 which gets rounded down. But I thought gauss was 10 per ton so that doesn't seem right.

it works the opposite, because Paul logic

you end up with MORE AMMO if you use full 1 ton bins of ammo instead of half ton bins

It does make sense though, two boxes require more material used for casing than one box.

usually AC20, 7 shots/Ton, when taking a half ton you only get 3 shots(half rounded down)

Also if you have the Ballistic or Missile Ammo Quirks, on Ammo that gives you a single bonus,
AC20 / Gauss / Narc, taking only one of the Ammo Quirks will not give you +1Ammo for these weapons,
as it would only give you half a shot, which isnt a full shot so rounded down into no bonus ammo on half tons,

edit-
also how much ammo do you have in that mech,
1Ton of gauss ammo is 10 shots, 1/2Ton of gauss ammo is 5 shots,
with one ammo Quirk you get +1Shot for a 1Ton, but nothing per 1/2Ton,
with both ammo Quirk you get +2Shot for a 1Ton, and +1Shot for a 1/2Ton

i ask as you have 60 & 56 ammo, 60 is ok but 56?
56 isnt divisible by 10 or 5 so im assuming you have ammo quirks,
but 56 isnt divisible by 11(1ton +1Quirk) or 12(1ton +2Quirks) of 6(1/2ton +2Quirks),
so im assuming you have a mix of full tons and half tons,
