Okay, what is the base heat capacity for a mech with 10 heatsinks in the engine for single and double heatsinks? I am finding differing information every were I look.

30 base heat capacity + 20 for double heatsinks in the engine, or +10 for single heatsinks in the engine. Each additional outside double heatsink adds 1.5 heat cap, while each additional outside single heatsink adds 1.2 heat cap.

I am curious about the +20
Because, in the XML, it only lists a single Heat Cap variable (of 1.5), while heat dissipation has two, the TrueDub and PoorDub

I guess we'd either have to do intensive testing to determine what heat % truly equals the output heat of a given weapon...or hope PGI answers that question directly

I am almost certain that truedubs are 2.0 heat dissipation and 2.0 heat cap, but I could be wrong.

Smurphy still says 50 for a full 10 TruDubs.

single 30+12, double 30+15. Clan or IS, all the same.

Differing information, old vs. new. Latest changes in last December.

Correct. Per patch notes, engine and external heat capasity is the same, diferences are only in heat dissapation, for engine vs. external.

Actually, I would not be 100% sure. The patch notes are pretty clear, but I have some doubts, maybe they omitted the diference in capasity of internal and external?

Thing is, when the clan external heat capacity was 1.1, the clan internal heat capacity was definitely not 1.1. There is nothing mentioned about that at all.

Yes, I started to doubt it as this guide was well done and seemed to check out. It's a year old so it's wrong on the later changes as it hasn't been updated, but it lists values not mentioned by patch notes at all.

Should be relatively easy to test heat capasity though, just alpha fire right kind of weapons on mech that has no nodes.

would have to do it on a Night Gyr to completely rule out map temperature

I did some testing in this thread: https://mwomercs.com...inment-testing/

I may well have done it wrong, however the results seemed to indicate something was 'off' in the way we are told heat capacity is calculated.

A Night Gyr (or Hellslinger) test might be a good idea also.
