Must be a mistake, no one in the right mind will accuse a LRMboat, who claims to carry the team with LRMs, with cheating.

I just remembered the time that I saw a player accusing a LRM boat of using aimbot because his missiles were always hitting him. While they were locked on. He was 100% serious. I weep for his brain cells.

Salty tears are always the best sauce Bandito. Can't count how many times I've been called a cheater and I laughed for the rest of the night each time.
I especially love it when your driving a light or medium.

Now I feel bad, I haven't been called a cheater in months. Last time it was because I ran a BoomRifleman and headcapped 2 people in succession...

... (I was aiming for their wounded side torsos and missed, instead hitting them in the face both times).

But yeah, I think I'll be ok. Not like I called the other team's guy a noob or something.

Say what you want about me, I think this topic and its content, attitude and theme speaks for itself.

Instead of wild insults and hate expressed in this topic take a moment to think how an intelligent person would describe the theme of this topic. Or if this topic had a point, what the point of it would be.

Any newbie legit player would think twice before speaking up about cheating after reading this topic. I think that's the point of it.

In case anyone is wondering, yes this attitude is even stronger in game and I can only imagine how bad it gets on private team speak.

So here I was, playing an intense match against the PH-R guys who had Nova rushed me once (fun memory, https://mwomercs.com...n-you-the-game/), when one of them accused me of cheating. According to this, aimbot was definitely used. Guess I'm... flattered?

Let's see, what other dastardly cheat did I commit? Lazoring continuously without ever overheating? Oh my!

I was completely prepared to laugh off the accusations, but then on the next match another of my previous match's opponents had teased me on my "cheating" performance of that fight.

Hmm, maybe they do think I am cheating, in spite of the jesting attitude. I mean I did have that 1700 damage QP match the other day against PH-R, which could reinforce the idea that I somehow gotten it through illicit means. I could simply write a post and deny any wrongdoing, but that most certainly will not quell suspicion from others. Luckily I had recorded the match. You be the judge on how much of a cheater I was. No, I did not cheat.

You are definitely cheating...

Somehow you have manipulated your tier to get matched against french fries...what sorcery is this?

The more I see of the multiplayer gaming community, the more I realize that skill=cheating to the average player.

Also, not sure if this post counts as name and shame or not.

Sjlver and I take accusations of cheating as a compliment.

...So, if someone happens to excel at this game, they should live in perpetual fear of being banned because people report them for cheating, because nobody could possibly be that good?

This has to be sarcasm. It has to be...

... I don't even...

And I'm a terribad pilot, but I know I'm terribad. The last thing I think when I get smoked in a game is that the enemy pilot is cheating.

Jesus Christ, I'd hate to have to go through life as some of you guys. Your inner misery is palpable.

It's just a game fellas. Try to keep a little perspective.

Why should i care? Is it my job to painfully search for subtle clues that someone is cheating? No, it's PGI job. They gave us a report tool so we can report anything suspicious to help them hunt cheaters, and we all know that there are cheaters (if you don't know, yes, some people are cheating, welcome to online competitive fps world).

So, i do my part against cheating, i report all people suspiciously good, because that's the only thing we, players, can be sure of. If you kill me by removing my CT without hitting any other part of the mech, you're reported. If you manage to place multiple headshots, you're reported, if you kill half the ennemy team with only 50 damage/mech, you're reported.

I don't see what's your problem is, i have no idea if you are cheating or not, all i'm doing if indicating PGI what are the accounts worth checking. You can report me as well, you should, i managed to do a 1100+ damage with my second account while playing a trial mech not long ago. That's suspicious, you should report me.

It's PGI job after that to check to see if someone is cheating, or not, all we are doing is help them save some time.

If you never report anybody, then you share a responsability with the rampant cheating.

There are cheaters, and it's your fault because you won't do anything about it... And let me tell you something, the more you rise in tier, the more cheaters you encounter, and the more you should report, because that's exactly what cheating is about, being better than everyone else.

But i presume you're the kind of people that wouldn't dare say Lance Armstrong could be cheating, that's just skill if he could beat regularly even people that were found guilty of cheating. Nothing suspicious, of course. Well, i'm the kind of person that always knew Lance Armstrong needed to be kept under scrutiny, because to be better than cheaters, you have to be superman, or be cheating yourself. And i never saw Lance Armstrong wearing its underwear over its pants...

Showing a video of not cheating is hardly evidence that you never cheat. Just saying.

Of course, because anyone that is ever accused of cheating must provide 100% proof they have never cheated.

That's how the burden of proof works, right guys?

Anyone should think atleast twice before speaking up about cheating. And if someone speaks up about it, especially when openly accusing others of cheating, he sure as hell better has reliable evidence, in the form of screenshots and videos.

Speaking of which, you shouldn't think just twice, but 5 or 6 times before speaking up about cheating.

Johnny, i like you but i don't agree with this either. Lol.

Maybe i'm being naive and idealistic but until i see blatant proof that someone is cheating, i will never act on suspicion alone.

Personally, I've seen guys in real life in my poker games who are absolute luck sacks. The kind that pull off 4 outers on the river without sweat. It happens.

My first real headshot in the game was on a panther in canyon. I remember it vividly. He ran obliquely across me in my linebacker and i snapped an extremely badly timed shot at his ct as he did. It would have missed completely but he decided to stop exactly at that moment to turn around and fire.

The 2 ppc shot took his head clean off.

Another game on frozen, my team got rolled. 11-5. I was the last guy facing down 7 opponents. I killed two neatly and got caught by a warhawk and a dire in brawl range. The only thing i was thinking was to just deal as much damage before i went down. I actually won the game because through sheer dumb luck and strangely untrembling hands despite the adrenaline, my aim was effing on point. Proceeded to dismantle one more huntsman, a stripped jenner and my last opponent was another fresh dire. Kited him around a building thanks to seismic. It was epic.

I've done some unbelievable things in this game and i don't doubt others have too while being completely legit.

Actually agree with this, reporting suspiciously high performance is a good thing so PGI can be more efficient in checking for cheats. If you're not cheating there's nothing to find so no harm done.

Doesn't mean you beleive a lot of good players are cheating, just a service done for data collection.

Public accusations of cheating are always useless though, and they are useless both when they are true and when they are false. It will only lead to public ridicule like this thread and do absolutely nothing to reduce cheating. Just silently hit report every time you feel suspicious and move on, everyone should do this routinely.

Anything that light eating a 75 point alpha to the back/face multiple times will go down. That was just a knee jerk reaction to getting one shot in the back.

Lol Bandito! I was just accused of cheating yesterday, aim-botting and using a damage-nerf cheat. I was in a nova (13 small lasers) and back shot a LRMing battlemaster and anothe nova who was next to the BM and equipped with ERMLs came to fight me. He was jumping around and spraying fire all over my body like a water sprinkler while I was taking my time to CT with every shot of 6/7 Small lasers. He died and I didn't.
"I'm reporting you for cheating!"

I really laughed and then replied, "You being a potato is not a hack."

He went on and on and on and I finally said, "If you think I am cheating report me, heck have the whole team report me and when you see me not-banned know you were wrong."

Simple reply to people who accuse you of cheating:

"Hey, thanks for the compliment, but I'm not cheating. I have no reason to risk losing my account."

If they persist, then just say:

"Please stop accusinge of cheating; I will report you to PGI for harassment if you want them to examine your chat history."

Tends to work well.

No, I did not cheat.

I had something similar a few weeks ago. Even have the game recorded.
I killed someone with Adv. Zoom and ERLLs and one of my dead team mates (!) spectating me wrote: "The aimbot is too obvious, Paigan."
I then went on mocking him that the "cheat" is called Adv. Zoom and can be bought in the MechLab. It was hilarious Posted Image
