Look, I loves me some LRMs. More times than not, I'm that guy pouring LRM misery on your team. So bear with me as I trash LRMs a little bit here. I doubt anyone will argue.

Today I decided to haul out my 3x AMS Kitfox to see how it works now with the new skill tree.

I'm on Caustic and, IMHO, I performed my role well. LRMs were blotting out the sun, but my Kitfox swatted them down. At the end of the game someone on the OPFOR actually said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "we would have won if we would have taken out that kitfox sooner."

Now, if your victory hinges upon:
1. Metric crap tons of LRMs
2. Taking out the poor little Kitfox
... you are doing it wrong.

I had swatted down over 1000 missiles, which was much more than I see on most games. Glad I brought my AMS umbrella!

So all that to say "I am amused" and that 3x AMS works very well with the new skill tree.

My unit has 3AMS Novas with 2.5 tons of ammo that are running out most games now.

LAMS shines in passive plays. If you wish to push those LRM boats then regular AMS is much better due to having no heat.

Here's hoping it brings ballistics a little more to the fore when the Civil war drops.

Disclaimer: this post focuses on solo queue play ONLY.

And this is why bringing a mech that relies entirely on LRM's is stupid. Bring LRM's, sure; they're effective enough in PUG play. But if you're in a pure LRM boat with just a couple ML's otherwise, you don't get to complain that you did badly because there was too much AMS/ECM/Kind of tall rocks.

You did badly because you where stupid.

In solo queue play, you need to be self reliant. You can't just assume everyone else is going to kill that Kit Fox/Nova/rock,

You need to be able to cope with the presence of such Mechs. If you can't - if a Kit Fox can render your Stalker irrelevant simply by existing, and not actively doing anything at all, just standing around - then it's your own failing.

I cannot wait for nutech, and run 2 LAMS, 1 AMS on my Nova. Let's hope I can toggle those individually. :^)

Laser AMS is likely to use the Flamer heat mechanic. Program your "K" toogle...
