I've been revisiting a lot of mechs that rarely see action in my garage. Currently my long time favorite mech , the IS Hunchback 4P , is quickly becoming my most played mech again.
With the skill tree , I was able to get -15.5% heat from weapons , -25% laser duration , +15% range , +15% max heat , -10% heat disappation , -14.75% cooldown , and radar dep + seismic sensor.
All of this combined makes a extremely reliable medium with TONS of dps due to .675 duration medium lasers and amazing heat reduction / disappation.
Im running a STD 275 with 6 ML , 3 small lasers , 17 heatsinks , and ams.
So , what mech are you having the most fun with since the skill tree?
I've only had a chance to really test a few, due to hardware issues. Thus, I expect to find some gems and some turds still.
That said, I have been enjoying greatly getting to run my MDD-Prime largely as FASA and Weisman had intended.
2xaLRM20, 4x ERMLs, allow it to actually be a Mad Dog.
As for the Skill Nodes, I opened up pretty much all of Operations, Most of the Missile related Firepower and all the Velocity boost I could get, the Entire Cool Shot part of the Auxiliary Web, and a bit in Mobility. But where I really focused was in Sensors. I didn't bother with Radar Derp (or ECM, obviously) but by really boosting the Velocity, and how quick I can get a lock/how long I can hold one, It really lets me shine in the 300-500 meter bracket where I can direct fire effectively, and bring my Lasers to bear. It also has enough velocity that if I do get a non LoS lock, I can more effectively exploit it.
For my IS account, I haven't really had a chance to play too much, but I expect my HBK-4G to be as brutal a hammer as ever. I have specific plans for my Orion VA, various Catapults and Rifleman chassis. And of course my Urbies...though they and the Orion are somewhat sidelined as my plans for them specifically involve the upcoming FutureTech.
I do worry about my Assassin though.
