I've been revisiting a lot of mechs that rarely see action in my garage. Currently my long time favorite mech , the IS Hunchback 4P , is quickly becoming my most played mech again.

With the skill tree , I was able to get -15.5% heat from weapons , -25% laser duration , +15% range , +15% max heat , -10% heat disappation , -14.75% cooldown , and radar dep + seismic sensor.

All of this combined makes a extremely reliable medium with TONS of dps due to .675 duration medium lasers and amazing heat reduction / disappation.

Im running a STD 275 with 6 ML , 3 small lasers , 17 heatsinks , and ams.

So , what mech are you having the most fun with since the skill tree?

Partly because of the Light queue being ...light, and partly for the love of I.S. SRM2s I never knew I had, I've been enjoying the Javelin 10P quite a bit, with 6 srm2s, 480 rounds of ammo and goes 148kph, what's not to like? Possibly the 25.8 dmg alpha, but it creeps on ya. Oh and she takes a beating.

Other than that, I've been really toying around with my EBJs, Phoenix 1B, and Assassin DD. My other chassis', I might take out, not get the response I want, and end up going back to the aforementioned lol.

All the Roughnecks...
Its going to suck when these come out for cbills, they are probably the strongest IS heavy mech.

And they are not heavily quirked(weapons side).

Sooooo trying this. I was staring at it last night, only one I've driven since the drop is the 4G.

Warhawk C, hands down. Clan laser vomit is crazy strong now. My Roughneck Reaver is also quite potent, but I had to change UAC5/s to LB10-Xs, since DPS builds are now garbage. Widowmaker with 4 AC/5s is also making a comeback. It is nice to not have to rely on inherent quirks to make your builds. Now you can fit the quirks to the weapons instead of the other way around. It's almost like playing clan.

If I had to pick only one out of the mechs I have played so far, Top Dog with double coolshot 27 is pretty good.

1st runner up: Dragon-1C, good quirks and has great agility for its weight.

2nd runner up: Wolverine-6K, it kept some pretty strong energy quirks. +10% range, -10% energy heat, -10% burn duration. I've just been using 3 X LPL, with skill tree buffs, their optimum range is about 450m, 0.5s burn time, and low heat. I don't really dig extreme range sniping, buy you could put 3 ERLL on it with 20-25% extra range and -25% burn time if you're into that sort of thing. Only downside of the mech is that all the lasers are in one arm, lose that and it's game over.

I haven't played my clan mechs as much as IS, but my Hellbringer and Orion IIC-A were both still good the few matches I played them.

I have yet to find a mech I like less. I felt a resurgence in my Hellbringers, Javelin is great, making good progress with mechs I had long shelved but now enjoy more than before. I went and also bought some IS Hunchies (LRM and SRM), and a Dragon. All of them are good fun. Anything munitions dependant (missile/ballisitic) is a lot more enjoyable, too.

Currently, I am exploring things I alwaysd thought myself to be **** at: SRM lights, Laser Vomit Heavies, Mixed Mediums. Kushwanker is loadsa fun.

Orion-IIC (CW only), Hellbringer, EBJ, MAD-IIC, NGyrs, Battlemasters, Jager-DD. Thinking of trying out the Bushwacker splat build.

Bushwacker S2 with SRM16 and AC/10.

Also heavily enjoying most of my mechs that I did before the skill tree. Except my Warhammer. Kind of shelved it for now. Don't know why, it does pretty decent.

The 6R got nerf'd pretty hard, that loss of the 20% ballistic velocity hurt it really bad. It was once a 2.7K/Der...now I've shelved it as I can no longer be consistent in it and the k/d is dipping down hard.

On the upside the 7S is one its way to 3+ k/d where was before i couldn't get it to work at all.

The dual uac5/ac5 on the black widow doesn't seem to work quite as well anymore...I'm not so sure what thats all about.

6D is laser vomit...nothing changed there, if anything it probably got stronger.

Favorite mech hasn't changed, but an atlas with maximum armor and a maxed survivability tree is extremely fun, no one can hurt you

I've only had a chance to really test a few, due to hardware issues. Thus, I expect to find some gems and some turds still.

That said, I have been enjoying greatly getting to run my MDD-Prime largely as FASA and Weisman had intended.

2xaLRM20, 4x ERMLs, allow it to actually be a Mad Dog.

As for the Skill Nodes, I opened up pretty much all of Operations, Most of the Missile related Firepower and all the Velocity boost I could get, the Entire Cool Shot part of the Auxiliary Web, and a bit in Mobility. But where I really focused was in Sensors. I didn't bother with Radar Derp (or ECM, obviously) but by really boosting the Velocity, and how quick I can get a lock/how long I can hold one, It really lets me shine in the 300-500 meter bracket where I can direct fire effectively, and bring my Lasers to bear. It also has enough velocity that if I do get a non LoS lock, I can more effectively exploit it.

For my IS account, I haven't really had a chance to play too much, but I expect my HBK-4G to be as brutal a hammer as ever. I have specific plans for my Orion VA, various Catapults and Rifleman chassis. And of course my Urbies...though they and the Orion are somewhat sidelined as my plans for them specifically involve the upcoming FutureTech.

I do worry about my Assassin though.

Linebackers and Novas have topped my list, since the update, mostly because they were least bashed by the engine desync.
