I'm trying to find a mech that fits well with how I like to play. I like to do hit and runs on the enemy and uav/air strike. I have a few is lights already in the wolfhound 2r,raven 3l and jenner-f (c.) I also have about $15 that I can use in the store as bills were high the past few months. I don't like many of the clan lights as most only go 97kph and I really dislike the ach spl build.

I get bored of having just one weapon type or being ammo dependent. i've used smurffy to check the speed of a few lights and the most likely build that i would use with the mech. I haven't checked medium mechs yet. I like IS mechs more than clan.

Cicada-2B, or 2A. Runs like a Light, but packs more firepower. They were nerfed recently, but still good.

spiders are still good but if you have 15 bucks maybe the javelin.

Going along with El bandito phoenix hawks medium can be good too.


Most fast mechs are limited on weapons if you get bored you should just change up the mechs. Mixing weapons isn't the best idea.

Get a Pirates Bane. Runs fast as hell, actually has enough hardpoints to actually kill things and has ECM to boot. Sure it costs a big of real money but it is worth it. Very fun light mech and maybe even the best light mech in the game.

Um you missed heat sinks. You have to drop bap on the sub 250 engine examples but they work. I think i kept the bap on the commando.

The only IS light I enjoyed using was the Firestarter. But now the poor guy is way too big so I just main the Cheetah for lights.

Just a few that I could think of, I don't think the builds are very good but I tried to think of ones that had high engine caps. I'm sure there are more but that was off the top of my head.

Locust is a rocket powered bicycle, fun little ride, easy to crash and burn.

Commando is a bit like a Locust, but a little less fragile. Also, Commandos tend to be tight builds, hard to get everything you want on one.

Urbanmech isn't actually fast, even with a maxed engine. But it's a fun little troll mech, and has the best cockpit in the game.

Javelin isn't available for cbills yet, but it's a solid little mech.

Spider... is the only light I've never played one of. Played well, they're annoying and frustrating.

Jenner has bad hitboxes, but is still overall good.

Raven has the ECM capable 3L, most of the others are meh.

Firestarters are still good, despite rescale making them significantly larger.

Wolfhounds are like bigger, tougher Commandos, with less speed and more firepower.

Panthers are kinda gimmicky, a bit slow for a light. But kit them right and they're playable.

Assassins and Cicadas are fat lights, play them as such.

Phoenix Hawks are quintessential mediums, not as fast as a light, not as well armed as a heavy.

The 55 ton mechs are at least decent, and the Shadowhawk and Griffin are very solid.

The CN9-D is fast and hits hard enough, but fast Cents seem to grab more attention than you'd think. Same for the CN9-YLW.

Most of the other mediums are pocket heavies.

Get a pirates bane man, its like Ayrton Senna x Michael Schumacher with a few weapons strapped on the side for good measure.

Or get the Phoenix Hawk - 3S with masc. Tops out at 169kph with largest engine, full speed tweak + masc active if you like the speed.

While those mechs arent super top tier meta I didnt ever regret getting them for the speed factor. They always bring amusing games.
