Yes they made it look like a lame power suit, also the link isn't the original picture from the TRO, but a badly draw copy, from another prospective.

Leave it to a Clanner to bring up the power suit analogy cause they did it first.

Buried underneath all the Assault/Heavy mechs, and maybe a few Medium mechs that are more Meta than the Lights will ever dream of being.

I know often times mechs in game can look much nicer than the Sarna sketches but this Ostsol looks to me a lot like a tall urbie?

No, it does not look like a tall urbie to you.

Yes, the OSR-2Cb would be welcome...maybe even a Jerome Blake hero?

If the Urbie was a trashcan, at least it didn't skip leg day.

This? This looks like a trashcan with stick legs...

I'd say there are both better and worse options at 60t and especially throughout the heavy class. The Anvil would be about the best possible 60 tonner but honestly 60t is hardly a heavy.

If we get the OstSol, I wonder if they could give the the hero variant the lore-correct pose:

It appears to be doing one of John Cleese's silly walks. Imagine this in-game -- it'd be glorious:

Rarely have I seen a mech so visually unappealing.

Alex might be a miracle worker, but even the messiah has limits.

Anyone else would have preferred an Ostsol over the latest IS offerings?

Make it go away.
I get it.
I'm as much about taking lame broken things and trying to see the good in them.
Too lame. Too broken.

No. Assassin is awesome, javelin is awesome, Phoenix hawk is wicked (finally after a few revisions)

Another one of mediocre capability nostalgia IS mechs?

Yes.

Just like the Classic Collection and Urbie, nostalgia would get me to open my wallet.

I like the Ostsol and Ostroc. Ostol especially served as a fine command mech for my medium lances. About the only real issue is they're largely redundant with the QuickDraw series. I'd still like to see them included though.

The thing would be a ridiculously tall Metroid given how skinny it is.

The claner ?

You mean Merc lore if it ever had any meaning here in the begining has gone a long time ago.
Call it a power suit, a space suit with weapons, when a piloted walking tank starts looking like a power ranger on steroids maybe it's time to let the thing die.
