And so it seems, this is going to be Battletech+, and not just Battletech. I expect to hear complaints that this "isn't" Battletech because of the differences and changes. I would think however, after all these years, with Jordan Weisman on board, Mr. Weisman might have new ideas he wanted to implement and "improve" on Battletech.

PvP restricted to stock only sounds like great news.

Right now I wish they would officially (and not through editing files) make available the rest of the mechs like the Cataphract and Wolverine. I guess they are not activated due to their texture renders being not finished yet.

Yep there are already a boat load of complaints about BT+. I think its hard for "old men brains" to alter processes that are 30years old - and the phase/round system is such a thing.
Also they seem not able to use the "great" visible / LOS system to full extend. Its great that you really need scouts to fire those AC2s or LRMs at maximum range. And you don't get returning fire (yet) when you keep the other scouts at bay.

Catapract & Firestarter only needs the weapon visuals (Flammer is bad -did overheat my Wolverine)
The WVR needs a complete set of textures

This BT game's appeal can not only be with BT players, but also extend to X-Com players, as well as players of the Front Mission franchise that is still missing a proper successor to those games. And which some games are trying to fill.

This game was exhibited again in the indie fair in Japan last month. Its trying to recapture that Front Mission look and feel.

I'm also currently deep in this game. Got to say the Fire Emblem franchise has been rejuvenating the tactical turn based arena-RPG since the Disgaea franchise.

BT comes in a good time when turn based games might be on the rise again, along with people starving for nostalgia and in search for games that require greater thought and tactics.
