Yes they are..
June patch is the comp build patch. New 8V8 Mode, and a mode that is for prema made comp teams. Has a ladder system built in.
(or is it july?) But yes, they are doing it again, and it's not a tourny till the end, You just play with your set team like any other mode, you get ranked, then ranked teams get into tourny

Trying to turn this game into an e-sport thingy is the dumbest idea ever!
Just to w4nk the epeen of self proclaimed "competitive" players......disgusting!
According to the survey they did after Mech Con 2016, in which 1952 people took part, the MWO World Championship Finals were the favorite elemente of Mech Con.

So, according to this survey (which has far more participants than any player poll on reddit) quite some people enjoyed the Championships, and therefor, probably give a damn.

That's a bit more harshly worded than I'd put it personally...
But yeah, it's coming back. I don't really care TBH since this game isn't really a good spectator game, but hey, as long as the music this year isn't terrible, and they don't have another potential lawyer scuffle, again, I wish them luck with it, and will check out the stream.

Man that lawyer thing was the dumbest thing ever. We'd all have personalized unit decals by now if it wasn't for that muppet. Who was the tool that lead that charge again? Is he even still around?

To be fair, PGI really should have taken the time and signed a contract with them, even just to protect their own posteriors. It's always better safe than sorry when it comes to money and people's logos.

I agree, PGI got complacent. They forgot the community/kind of people they are dealing with. They need to deal with the community as a hostile element that will use any excuse to push a point out of pure spite. Because as much as PGI messed up, there was ample opportunity for us to meet them half way but the hate from the community is just too real.
