Dont know how the rest of you guys, but I am tired of the same right side rotation, racing 3x circles around everytime with the same pattern.....really boring. Even driving tanks in WOT is every time different.....

We urgently need new maps, different spawn point, various objective locations, game physics....before it gets boring routine

I'm also a proponent of new maps, but that's not going to change the the nascar effect that players have ingrained in their psyche.

I'm gonna throw a real curve ball here; have you considered telling your team to turn left? I know that the assaults would surely appreciate having the team shorten their walk to battle every once in a while. You'll come across some resistance at first, but you'll definitely find people who are willing to shake it up if someone calls it out in advance. If enough people do this for a week, you will start noticing that movement patters will start to change as people start to feel the nascar effect isn't expected anymore and that teams trying new tricks like turning left are actually tearing through opponents because they encounter the fast mechs long before the poor assaults have a chance to catch up

PGI Devs,
Please bring back Collision and Knockdown. While you're at it, give us Melee. Make this game feel more like Battletech.

Thank you!!!!

You'd think that with all of the free Linebackers running around that people would try some flank maneuvers...Posted Image

From the day they released them for the pre-order crowd I've been waiting impatiently for more people interested in flanking... outside of a lance of groups, it doesn't seem to have caught on yet :/ . I shouldn't have been surprised though because people are still struggling with the idea of turning left it seems :P .

Again, this all sounds wonderful.

But knockdowns and inverse kinematics when? (mostly IK)

*EDIT* M X Striker beat me to it :^)

So the April FP 4.2 changes are now, maybe, Sept (but probably not).

Awesome. That'll keep people playing for sure!

I'll make this short and sweet...

Remove the Clan AC weapon family from placeholders into proper weapons... I'll settle with a single slug instead of a burst fire mechanics. Just work on that :(

New maps? PGI does not want to create new maps. They don't make any money on new maps! How are they gonna make the car payments on their new BMWs?

But, keep the pressure on community. If the players stop coming, PGI will either quit or maybe they will actually listen to the feedback from their community and make some new freakin' maps.

While there are some positives in the announcement, I find it amazing that new maps have been pushed back again. Didn't one of the town halls mention that at some staff were dedicated to map design?

Some interesting discussion here on player made maps as well. I think it could work. There seems to be two opinions on the matter:

1. PGI where are my new maps? Give me your level editor, I could make one in 15 minutes for Kerensky's sake!
2. Balancing maps takes time (6-12 months), be patient.

It seems reasonable that a middle ground could be found, perhaps, as others have mentioned, allowing the community to help PGI out by designing maps. Maybe release them to the PTS later, and allow the playerbase to then vote on them? That would curb most complaints, and establish some level of constructive criticism and feedback that could be used to better the maps even further, perhaps even streamline their construction and allow us to see newer maps every couple months.

Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.

Uh... hate to break it to you, but PGI don't drive around in BMWs :P and they ARE working on new maps, which you'd know, if you actually bothered to @#$%ing read the announcement.

Also, should be noted it's the CIVIL WAR Update, not specifically the FedCom Civil War update, there was more than one that happened in the 3060s, most notably the Wolf's Dragoons Civil War between the factions led by Alpin Wolf and Jaime Wolf, which is why Wolf's Dragoons Mechs and Heroes are being shown so heavily in the packs thusfar.

New maps and game modes would be greatPosted Image.

BUT WHY WHEN I WANT TO PLAY (FP) I HIT THE FIGHT NOW BUTTON AND WAIT 30+ MINUTES FOR A BATTLE?
its just getting stupid even trying to get a FP match even in a group 15+ minute wait.

And Scouting 15+ min wait come on PGI make a QP style FP with 1 2 man on each side the rest pugs/casuals/solo players.
Then put 4man-12man groups together in there own FP drops.

And we need a Social lobby in the main UI on a tab button so players can chat find useful information this forum cannot provide because its buried because some forum warriors mess up the topics with there trash posts.

I dunno, maybe I'm weird... I don't walk into a restaurant and demand "food", I try to provide some details of what I want.

Well, my demand is "choice"

I don't care about new mechs, or new tech, I've got more than I'll ever go through.
But I care about my skills (which is up to me) and new maps (because I like variety) and new mission types (because I like variety)
And because THEY DILUTE THE META.
The more combos of map and mission there are, the less likely a particular "meta" build is to be optimal.

FW
MAKE THE GATES DESTRUCTIBLE.
If the power supplies are destroyed, the gates can't open.

Put a "switch pad" for the gate inside the gate, stand on it for 20 seconds to open, works for anyone, even if taking fire (or make it 30 seconds for an enemy?)

Move the power supplies away so they can't be destroyed from outside the gates.

PGI - Keep the banked time. Add another 30 days to the current Civil War pack.

Modify usage for premium time. Add the option to use 1,5,7 10 days of the banked time.

Some of these packages are coming kind of fast.

Since the rule of cool (3 mechs to master) is gone, please look at some of the older IS models/mechs to produce.

I will just sit back and wait as the s-storm hits when all the people that say they-want-moar-map-IDC-what-maps complain about the maps they get.

How do you know new maps will dilute the meta? Perhaps they'll reinforce it. Or perhaps they'll all have some common attributes that will dictate a new meta.

I have seen people in this game time and again heap expectations w/o parameters onto PGI and then they wonder how it went so wrong. Not *every* thing happened this way, but so many times people have an idea in their head, and trust PGI to read their mind, assuming that their idea should be so obvious that no one could ever implement it differently.

This isn't to say PGI is flawless, but feedback is not helpful when it is vague.

@Movin: that and they assume that because they've bought MC or a MechPack PGI is beholden to them for it.

fact is, when you did that, you got what you paid for. there isn't really any further "hold" you have over PGI.

They're doing stuff as fast as they can, but like any business, who knows what's happened. could had employees quit, go on Mat leave, have a family member die, we don't know, and frankly we don't deserve to know, a lot of that's personal.

and to be blunt, if you're going to ***** about maps, how about NOT voting for Polar Crylands or Frozen Cubey because you suck too much to learn to manage your heat and actually using ALL the maps we have currently. You don't really incentivize them to actually WORK on a new map when you piss all over ones they took a lot of time to make and renovate for our use. mean, hell, new Terra Therma is actually a GREAT map. prob is laser vomit metafags tend to boil themselves because they just want to constantly alpha, rather than, say, Chainfiring, or Splitfiring....and don't even get me started on the ones who stand in Lava and wonder why they fry even faster...

I did read the announcement !!! And I will believe it when I see it. I also remember Bullock saying it costs PGI $250,000 to create a new map. That is crap! If that is really true, then PGI needs new map makers or PGI designers are way over paid! As for BMW owners, if I recall correctly I believe Mr. Paul Inouye drives a BMW or used to at least.

Don't get me wrong, PGI has been successful in resurrecting a very popular '90s into the early 2000s video franchise by creating it in a new modern game engine. It seems to me PGI is working on the fluff of MWO, when they should be concentrating on more content and moving the game into the world of Virtual Reality. Maybe they feel the current game is not positioned for VR and they are looking at their new effort with Mech Warrior 5 as the platform for VR using the Unreal engine.

I do understand the team at PGI is not a large one. So PGI is resource constrained. But if PGI does not grasp the future, MWO will die a slow and lonely death. If this happens, we as a Mech Warrior community can only hope a larger studio will pick up where PGI left off and push this noble franchise into the future.
