This is a surprisingly tough decision for me. Personally I'd probably end up going with the Mad Cat MKII in the end, due to planning to be a Clan Nova Cat loyalist if it becomes an option in the new CW. Especially considering I'll be able to run a Nova Cat-themed drop deck now, thanks to the Nova Cat and Huntsman being options.

I have to go with the Nighstar... If for no other reason that I rue the Madcat lineage. Posted Image

Nightstar.

It is prettier and more interesting to build.

I bought both but couldn't finish out buying all four of the new ultimate packs because xsolla is garbage!!!

So I'm missing the Clan side ATM.... -_-

Edit: xsolla really really blows did I mention that yet?

Nightstar. While the Madcat MkII looks interesting, I vastly prefer the cosmetics of the Nightstar (according to the only art of either we've seen). That, and I'm an IS loyalist so I need IS mechs to fill my mechbays. Although it has to compete with my Banshee for that 95 ton mech preference.

Mad Cat MKII must continue on the Timberwolf (Marauder/Catapult) lineage anyway possible, also one the only few assaults I will put most my time in other than my Timberwolf for months unend.

How would you react or go to if they moved the timeline to late Dark Age?

Nightstar.
It would be nice to have another IS Assault to go with my KGC.
I also already have the MKII.

I would laugh, I would cry, I would say **** YEAH!!! HELM COREEE TECHHHHH!!!!
And then proceed to raid the planet Merik for it's vast hidden reserves of starleague and darkage mechs.

Mostly cry for an hour, then put Spirit Cat emblems on all of my mechs. (Even the IS ones, as it makes more sense as per Dark Age. As it stands, any non-Clan Mech I own is drab green with the 2SLDF logo.)

I'd pick Nightstar but Mad Cat MKII will be a better mech unless PGI nerfs the living **** out of it.

Nightstar. If only because it's got hands for grabbing and shaking trolling Elementals about.

MKII.

I buy mechs based on predictable performance, not based on looks or nostalgia.

WHAT!?
The only reason to buy about 80% of the mechs in this game is for looks and/or nostalgia. If we all just bought based on predictable performance then no one would run most lights or meduims and half the assaults in the game...

...oh, right. Nevermind.

Nightstar as well, the Mk II doesn't do it for me, it's a 90t platform that should've been an 85t Omni platform to keep in line with it's predecessor.
