I've always advocated for any kind of consequence game play in MWO. Maybe not forced on people, but if Solaris was in, R & R, plus a ladder ranking where you played for pink slips. Iron Man Mech League. What is destroyed, stays destroyed.

Full engine kills destroy your mech.

Unlock Solaris specific decals and anything else they can think of.

A big part of Mechwarrior was the honour between pilots. Letting another mech limp off the battlefield or if they are a true enemy, step on their cockpit after downing their mech.

Plenty of lore supports that even during raids between Houses injured mechs were left unmolested to retreat, because you would want them to do the same if the situation were reversed.

The game lacks depth.

I've also always thought we should have pilots we slot into our mechs for slight bonuses. Your Solaris stable could have techs and engineers you slot in for whatever they grant.

Never gonna happen because baddies need their safezones.

It wasn't just baddies. I know what old R&R was like. Heck, I was burning extra tonnage on ammo just to be able to function on freebie 75% reloads and scraping by on repairs.

Screw that noise. An R&R system needs to be tied into something besides player C-bill counts. Unit coffers to increase supply lines? Sure thing. Factional lockouts for Mechs to be resupplied/repaired based off of supply lines to a given planet? Yes please. More FP missions to make supply runs/raid enemy supplies? Heck yeah.

But none of this moneysinking junk for QP or even FP. It was a trash mode before, it's still a trash mode idea now.
