Firing again and again Narc into enemyt mechs and it is not registering...

Hit reg on other weapons seems fine - ping low.

Yes, narcing became much much more hard.
PGI, is it intentional?

Narc usage, being a single missile, rather than a spread of SRMs or tracking LRMs is much harder than simply hitting. It takes pretty precise placement and is being made more difficult by several factors I've noted of late. One factor, besides needing greater accuracy due to being only one missile which needs to be properly aimed and TIMED due to travel time (velocity), is the factor of AMS. As I understand it, AMS can shoot down NARC becons and it seems at least in some cases and certain tiers, some have really started to pack AMS again, due perhaps to polar highlands. When attempting to Narc a thick group of mechs, with a good bit of range between you and them, AMS overlapping from multiples I think can destroy the narc before it makes contact.

Finally, another aspect of the defeat of Narc, is ECM. Unless it has changed once again, narcing an ecm mech should knock out that ecm mechs ecm for a while as well as marking them HOWEVER, groups often have multiple ECM sources and Narced ECM mechs run and hide under the skirts of their other ECM buddies. You may have narced several mechs, but if they are hiding under an bubble of ecm with no spotters, then you still are not getting narc signals/marking.

That's all I got for ya I suppose. I've not narced recently, but this is stuff from last time I did it a few seasons back.

I was playing around with a NARC cheetah tonight, seemed to work pretty well if I aimed straight. There are a lot of mechanics at play with NARC, can be shot down by AMS, countered by ECM, in addition to the slow travel speed. Sometimes I'd get a couple of mechs in a group, but they were within ECM range. Then if I hit the ECM mech with it (countering the ECM), they'd all light up.

Not saying there can't be a hitreg problem though. If you can record what you're seeing we can work out what is happening.

Narc is difficult to hit because it's so slow. Plus AMS can shoot it down.

I've noticed this, shots that looked like clean connects do nothing, time after time. Pretty annoying when your entire build relies on landing narcs.

Then there's all the counters, ecm being the must annoying because for 1 ton they can counter your narc with no effort while you spent 3-5 tons for that narc and had to expose your self and land a difficult shot. Narc could use some sort of buff I think, it's hardly ever seen in games which is the real proof of it's weakness.

Don't mean to necro a thread, but I can confirm NARC's are not registering a large number of times.

Also if you narc while stealthed it doesn't show up for you unless your under 180 m ish, stealth ***** up their locks and yours, and ams can drop a narc every time over 300 m
