Salute, brother. You're the best drop caller since PanzerMagier. We had an epic match on Grim Plexus where five of the 12 of us scored over 500 damage.

If you are reading this, I was the Rifleman that had your back across the middle of the map. Excellent dropcalling, man. First rate.

Sounds like a fun match, wish I was there. I give you 2 thumbs up for being supportive and upbeat.

It was a fun match. I've also ended up temporarily crossing into Tier 2, unfortunately-it was that good. But experience says I'll have a run of bad luck and go back and forth for awhile now :) .

Upbeat? Yeah. The game is still fun overall. The skill tree hasn't hurt things for the most part and has helped some of my old favorites. I'm spending more time running just a few mechs and getting more used to them. I have become convinced that that is a key to doing well. The higher I move in tier, the more salt I encounter but it is still isolated. I pug in solo queue for the most part; I don't run FP as a general rule, and I run group queue with my unit from time to time, but the most fun is just pugging. Why? Because it's wholly random, mechs are all mixed up and so are the pilots. I have less fun in FP where it's usually organized groups vs. pugs and the tech imbalance is still real, or in the group queue where you get too many comp-style groups, but every now and then I've been on the winning side of those matches too and I much enjoy running with my unit. As I get better my preferences might change but in the almost two years I've been in game it's always been solo queue that's returned the most fun overall.

Usually Grim Plexus ends up in a fight for the big building complex on the high ground near Theta where the one base is in assault, or the high ground across the canyon where the other base is. This match ended up in a fight for the water tanks way on the other side, and part of the lead up to that excellent brawl was a route march across the middle of the map in the reverse direction from usual. I haven't got a clue what the final score was but I don't think it was a roll. Yeah, you get a lot of things going south in a hurry in pug games, and map strategy tends to be somewhat predictable. But people are still pretty random and no two matches are quite the same. I judge myself by what I do in relation to everyone else; if it's a bad match and we get wiped 12-1 but I had an assist on the 1 we killed and my match score is comparable with the rest, then I did my best and that'll do.

I'm hoping to run across the mighty Splataclops again sometime (Felix was running a bright green CP-10 packing SRMs), and see some more old allies such as PBR Streetgang (another excellent caller) and PanzerMagier as I move into T2. Those guys bring much fun to the game.
