You are comparing a 65 ton battlemech to a 70 ton omnimech and a 75 ton omnimech.

All of which are heavy Mechs, whether they are Battlemechs or Omnimechs is irrelevant because they are all competing for the same usage.

It doesn't matter if people are tired of new mechs since PGI makes their primary source of income from new mech packs.

Cool story, doesn't mean my opinion is any less valid nor does it mean I think the Rifleman IIC is a poor choice outside of nostalgia reasons.

now you are comparing the Mad Cat MK.2 to the Marauder IIC, which is something that I never said to begin with. I simply stated that the Mad Cat MK.2 will very likely take the throne of the Marauder IIC when it drops in game.

By saying it will take over the "throne" of the IIC, that implies they are compared considering the choice to take one over the other exists (you would only choose one over the other if you compared the two and found one wanting). You can "simply state" all you want, but if you don't understand the implications of your statements, then maybe I'm not the one trolling.

Uhhhhh... saying the Mad Cat Mk. II will take the throne of the Marauder IIC is, by definition, comparing the Mad Cat Mk II to the Marauder IIC.

Agreed.

Wouldn't mind the Rifleman IIC I guess, but there are other roles I would like to see covered first. Clan Heavy is not really something I'm looking at personally.

Would rather have a Kingfisher than the Rifleman IIC Posted Image

Honestly, if it had Cyclops level of agility it would be awesome-sauce, coupled with some durability buffs... mmmmmhmm!

I would rather have the Warhammer IIC than the Kingfisher honestly. It would put mechs like the Executioner and the Gargles already further back on the back burner as already useless mechs and would completely crap all over the slower assault mechs like the Atlas in game.

Sorry, but I don't think PGI will give it any durability buffs with it's standard engine and 14 and a half tons of ferro-fib armor either. Unless PGI were to give some of it's heat sinks exposed outside of it's chassis as a mech weakness (which they will probably not), this mech screams nothing but OP until it will get nerfed into oblivion acting nothing like it's battletech lore counterpart.

Its a low podspace omni assault, that is known for its "relative invulnerability" of course it would have durability buffs.

Why do want a mech to obsolete the Executioner and the Gargles? Btw, pre-cSPL nerf the Gargles was one of the top brawling assaults in the game, with a comp scene presence. Sounds like you weren't aware of that.

I'm aware that one of the few thing that the gargles excelled in was cSPL boating before the small laser nerfs. I used to run a cSPL + cUAC20 build on my Executioner prime before it was resized to a skyscraper. So wouldn't that further prove my point that the Kingfisher even with it's limited pod space will out perform the Executioner and Gargoyle since now they lost one of the very few things that they were decent at, besides long range peaking? Since now you are suggesting a 90 ton assault omnimech that can tank better damage with a standard engine with much more armor than both the Gargoyle and Executioner.

No thanks, I would rather have the Rifleman IIC over the Kingfisher. Posted Image

Standard engines are a detriment to any Clan mech, and the Executioner can mount more armor. You aren't stuck with stock armor in MWO.

Either the lack of understanding or troll is strong with this one.

The Executioner gets more armor, more hardpoints, very high base mobility, MASC, and JJs.

The Kingfisher gets durability quirks, slightly higher hardpoints, less podspace, similar base mobility and GASP... a STD engine. This one will perform more like a BLR/BNC but with slightly worse hardpoints, where the EXE still gets to dance with MASC and leap into the air. Completely different animals.

Gargoyle has another role still... 87 kph, very high base mobility, more hardpoints... you think heavy small lasers aren't going to be a thing in a month? Lol.

Meh, no need to Imperius. Honestly the more that they reply with these ridiculous debates the more that it stays on the front page. So they are actually promoting the Rifleman IIC the more that they post on the thread, lol. Most people on the forum probably don't even bother to go on these pages this deep into the thread. They think that they are trying to win an internet debate with implications on me and their view points, while they are unconsciously promoting the mech on the front page in the meantime. So everyone wins in the end. Posted Image

Speaking of the Rifleman IIC, there are four time appropriate versions for the Civil War Era:

RFL-IIC
Debuted - 2845

RFL-IIC-2
Debuted - 2997

RFL-IIC-3
Debuted - 3062

RFL-IIC-4
Debuted - 3065

So despite all the confusion from last night's town hall and no clear information with what PGI is going to do with future mech packs (I still have no clue if they are going to return to single packs again, not release any mechs for a while, wait in two month intervals and release another 4-pack for the civil war era, or what now), I might as well leave this here as a screen cap for everyone to see for themselves.

I'm just going to say this now, I'm really not interested in buying map pack content for Solaris arena at all nor any additional "map content" in the future. Still not giving up the fight to get this mech in game however. What I will probably do is let this thread sit for a bit, but feel free to bump it once in awhile for future players to see and discuss.

I somehow managed to miss this post on July 11th, 2017. I probably wouldn't have been on a Rifleman IIC spamming warpath if I knew this existed before the town hall meeting, lol.

Bumping since this is a 4th of July holiday weekend. I made some promotional material for Daktek in Gmod. Introducing the Rifleman IIC Prime! (Well, sort of. It's a Hellbringer that's modified to look like a RFL-IIC prime Posted Image ).

Once I find a safe site I'll upload this dupe for anyone that is interested in Daktek's battletech mod for Garry's mod (It will be in the video description when ready).

Thanks again Will. Bumping the thread with the updated tech era variants for chassis's 1 through 4, so that everyone can see which era of each individual RFL-IIC chassis originated from. Included the video from page 6 since it's a double promotional video.

Also wanted to leave this here since I noticed the Rifleman IIC's Mechwarrior 2 tech manual is exactly the same description for variants 1 and 2 from this site;

http://battletech.rp...ctory_frame.php

I suggest that anyone who wants to check out an alternative to Sarna.net to go explore that site. It has ALOT more detailed descriptions of pretty much all battletech mechs that let's you run table top simulation skirmishes between stock chassis's. I discovered it from my Android phone and it's a great little tool for anything battletech related. Just create a free account and you can explore pretty much anything mech related.
