I'll go first:

Remember when the enhanced zoom module looked like an 8-bit version of MWO when you used it?

This isnt necessarily a chance to be salty/sarcastic (although Im sure there will be plenty of that), but for those who have been around awhile there are some aspects of the game development since 2011 that should be interesting/humorous to those who werent around for it.

Share your favorite oddities of MWO's lifespan thus far.

Remember when CW was an immersive, lore filled, adventure, full of faction intrigue and the drama of the clan invasion; where players of all skill level could jump in and have a roll in the fight for the inner sphere?

Me neither.

I remember when assaults with jump jets could, quite quickly, scale ledges and land atop buildings.

Remember when we had Predator heat vision and people ran around with it on just to shoot at the little colored blobs.

Remember when there were no restrictions on engine size at all, and one of the most terrifying mechs on the battlefield was an XL400 Awesome with 7MPL?

Kiiyor remembers.

On Forest Colony it let you see through the overmist and shoot across the map, it was so misty that it was the only way.

Remember when Bitching Betty was finally introduced? It was a huge win, its hard to remember the gameplay without her.

You're right. It isn't fare game, as it was only advertised that way and never made it into the game. Bad play on my part.

I remember several of the original map iterations where you needed heat vision just to see anything. Wasn't Frozen City just big shade of hazy blue most of the time?

I remember the left side cave on Old Forest Colony...the one with the waterfall. I still think so many games ended up in there was not for any tactical reason, but rather simply because players just wanted to fight in a cave with a waterfall. So much team damage, but so much fun.

Remember.... lagravens?

And Goons?

Goonravens?

SQUAAAAAAAAAWK.

I still have an inbuilt loathing for Ravens from those dark days.

Yea, the Catapult was the premier meta mech, Splat Cat.

But it was soon followed by the gauss Dual gauss version.

No I always had graphical glitches in the cave, it would become see-through. I hated the cave, but I do miss Forest Colony. It was more fun that the big terrible version of it that we have now.

As long as we're at it:

Remember launching and getting that 'yellow screen'...

Or the 'black screen'...

Or even the 'rainbow' screen...

Or how about shooting the opposing team on forest colony from your drop zone...

Or those classic pushes over the drop ship on frozen city night (still the best map),..

Tunnel rushes on forest colony or frozen city...

Shooting friendlies since no id when ecm first dropped...

Tearing the enemy disco to pieces to increase his repair costs...

Doing the same to your friendlies when they disco'd (since you couldn't rejoin)...

Dropping in trial mechs to farm credits so you could actually afford to lose one of your own mechs (R&R costs)...

When Jenners were 'god tier' (lag shield)...

The release of the first hero mech (Yen Lo)...

No fall damage...

No drop in speed on climbing hills...

Poptarts...the originals...

When taking upper city was a huge advantage in river city...

When groups and solo's played in the same que, seeing an 8 man and knowing 'it's over'...

When skirmish was introduced...

When R&R was removed (but cbill rewards were untouched)...

All the LRMpocalypse(s)...

Dropping on caustic during one of the LRMpocalypse and realizing there were no LRM mechs on your team....

Single heat sink battles...

The first private lobbies...

Sync dropping...

Dropping in matches and being out weighed by the opposing team by over 500 tons (and sometimes a lot more)...

Life before tiers...

The triple gauss IM...

So many memories...

A lot of those were good...I do remember the removal of R&R and then no Cbill adjustments. Also remember feeling unhappy about Yenlowang.

I remember the Jenner shield but the Spider was the bane of everyones existence for like a year or more it seems.

When ppc were used on Cat K2 and you could fire both of them at the same time without massive gh.

When gauss didn't have the charge mechanic and every one used one.

When the raven 3l ecm block all missiles from firing.

When the Raven 3l ecm was 120m.

When just one flamer worked against the enemy instead of your own mech.

When the devs gave a **** ,played the game, and interacted in their own events like Kill-A-Dev.

When the old maps let you tunnel rush in forest city.

When frozen city wasn't a sniper city.

When river city let you snipe the enemy spawn at the start of match from the upper city.

When 7 mechs disconnected and you mixed up the screen shots proving your side won.

When pugs used team work and communication.

When you finally installed a sound mod and died early because it made you laugh too much.
