I caved and bought the Supernova hero the other day, been having a lot of fun with the stock UAC20s in the arms.
My original end-game is replacing them with double LB-20, something like THIS
But would double gauss instead of double scattercannons work?

My quick thoughts after following the link? You have way to little ammo. Only 3 tons for the LBs is not much and that LRM-15 with a ton of ammo? Kinda useless. My Dual LB-20X Scorch has about 4 tons of LB ammo and another 5 tons of SRM-6 ammo and I usually run out. Personally I'd probably drop the LRM launcher and use the freed space for LB ammo until I got up to 5-7 tons and upping the leg armor.

Pretty much this, but I'd drop some heat sinks for 3 SPL/ERML/MPL (drop a JJ for the 3rd MPL)
Or drop the ASRM6 down to SRM4
LB20X, SRMs and Lasers - a tool for every occasion!

Its an option, for sure. I find the lasers end up being a detriment to heat management and torso twist when coupled with all the splat.

if you want think outside the box you can ignore the ballistics altogether. One of my more successful experiments was experiments based around E and M with nothing more than MGs in the arms for quaker guns. Based around 3 er ppcs with LRMs or SRMs to your taste makes a good Sniper just dont brawl with it. I usually stuff a big Targeting Comp in there too. XL325 was my first purchase for the SNV-BR
