2,) If you have AMS, take the 2 AMS nodes in the Survival skill tree.
3,) If you have ECM (because you stay with the weaker Kitfox), take the two ECM nodes in Sensors.
4,) Stop having LRM boats. :^)

Or
Get a fast moving heavy or assault (80-110kph thereabouts), with close to mid range weapons, push that alpha up to near 100, and move with your team through areas LRM users can't target you, and close that distance. If you get within medium to close range against an LRM user, with a good setup of medium/close range weapons and some twisting, they really don't stand a chance.

Nono, it will do the job of shooting down missiles, I am just trying to suggest that you might want to blow up the guy firing the missiles to be MORE effective
Everyone loves the triple ams kitfox on their team, the ways to further buff AMS are to increase range in the weapon tree (applies to all weapons including AMS) and AMS overload in the survival tree, not necessarily both though, depends how expensive it is vs how much you benefit from the rest of the survival nodes you have to take.

Dang, I want that 110kph assault mech with a 100pt alpha. That would be a freaking Death Star machine.

Nova is more effective backupweapon and armour whise while teh kitfox generaly carries more ams ammo.
edit: ams firerate quirks currently do not add to ams effectiveness sicne theyr dps does not increase as the weapon does not actualy have a "firerate" stat that influences ams effectiveness. you can see that ingame too... just tested it.

Lol I don't, linebacker is crazy enough as is
MadIIC will go 80kph with an alpha up that way, though when I consider alphas I am considering things like UAC too and its potential for double damage, so that adds a lot.

Your role in a kitfox is mostly just to hang near the assaults and heavies, keeping an eye out for things that will affect your team. It is a vital kind of role for any team, but its not the kind of job that everyone will enjoy.
Basically you stick around the legs of your front line assaults, without getting underfoot, and push alongside them once they break for a brawl, any moments you are getting shot at, are spent tanking and fleeing back into teammates, and any opportunities (which will be many if you do this often) that open up for you to fire without receiving return fire, take them, in combat you are in no way matched with most damage focused mechs, your strengths lie in your teamwork for this kind of mech.

Nova-S (build above) has 6 cERML, 3 cAMS, 2.5 tons (5000 shots) of +30% RoF AMS. It is only 18kph slower than the Kitfox, has JJs, and can actually push good damage. It is also tankier. The Kitfox isn't as good an AMS carrier as the Nova-S, and it's certainly not as powerful, nor resilient.

I do love the kitfox though don't get me wrong, from memory I managed to get 3 ams with 4 ammo i think, with an lpl and 2erml somehow. I also put a TAG laser on it for extra teamness plus.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but since CBills is affected by damage done, the Nova-S wins again. No idea how Firebrand or Stalker relate to this topic at all. If you want the best AMS carrier in the game, it's the Nova-S.

If you want to go support Nova, go for the 3 ERM / 6ERS version. It's way better at bodyguarding your heavies against ambushes.

This man has it. The Nova-S is the best overall anti-lrm mech, not [just] because of it's Anti-LRM AMS power (which is top tier) but because it remains highly dangerous. Speed, manueverability, AMS coverage, and combat ability.
You've got the speed and maneuverability to get your iron done where you want it and the firepower to contribute offensively as well, so should you drop in a battle without LRM's you don't feel like you're dead weight (Oh, hello there, Kitfox!)

Sorry, my bad. What I meant is that it's the best defense against missle boating. After all, AMS is only part of the equation.
... but the Kitfox has 38% less armor (and structure), with 33% less damage output, for a meager 16kph top speed. And after all that, it has 25% less AMS coverage. You might see how people would call the Kitfox hopelessly outperformed. And for the points needed to get that ECM to 100%, a Nova can run 100% Radar Derp.
