Pre clan energy nerf if agree. Post? No... No no no. Clans only advantage now is range ( and not by much) so now we have to play the kite game to stay in that limited range. If you make IS that much faster then you might as well give clan some buffs and restrict FP dropdecks to 225 tone where we can only bring fast meds..

My intent was to allow for more internal DHS, especially for Light 'mechs. However, I gave people the option to have more added, for whatever reason, 2 of which were Clan BattleMechs.

But please, tell me how this is really all about IS vs Clan...

hate to brake it to you but increasing eng size of all those IS mechs is a huge buff that is not necessary. And throwing in a couple of token clan mech's dosnt increase your validity. IS mechs don't need to be faster. If you want to go fast in a assault or heavy, run a Clan mech.

With the arrival of the LFE, yes, a lot of IS mechs need to have their engine caps bumped.

Heck, at this point I'm not even sure we need engine caps. Mobility is now set by some mix of stock engine size and PGI's feelings on the matter, so if your mech starts with a big stock engine, it'll probably be mobile than one of the same chassis class that starts with a smaller engine. Since you'll always have that buff (until PGI nerfs it away), maybe we don't even need engine caps. I mean, nobody is going to put an XL 400 engine in a Hunchback, and I don't see how allowing all Awesomes or Stalkers to carry a 400 engine is going to matter at all since such builds would be worthless.

You forgot the king crab.
If it could move and keep up with the MADIIC while maintaining podspace, and even freeing some up by removing arm actuators... It would be a total and literal game changer.

Even with a 400 engine, it would be slower than a MAD-IIC because it's 15 tons heavier. A Boar's Head Atlas comes with an XL 400 and tops out at 64.8 kph. A MAD-IIC-D, the only MAD-IIC without a 400 engine cap, tops out at 64.8 kph with a 340.

What engine size would you propose? 375? 400? Something in between?
