So, you are correct, you don't "owe" anyone in this game anything, but if you live by that credo, everyone else in your matches owes you nothing either and are free to do whatever they please, without fear of repercussions, such as team killing, hiding and shutting down for the entire match, spawn camping, leaving the match whenever they want etc etc. Go ahead and preach your view bud, you better just be prepared to deal with the consequences because while I appreciate the "I am not responsible for other people's happiness" mantra, coming at it from an angle of complete freedom, with no social expectations allowed is tantamount to throwing a temper tantrum every time you don't get your way. And what I said initially was a social expectation. When you drop into a match, you are saying that you are there to do your best not only for yourself but for the rest of the team. You expect this of them (and rightly so) so they have every right to expect it from you. If you are unwilling to agree to this, go play some single player game and leave the PVP games to people with a bit more understanding of how to treat each other.
I don't give a damn. I honestly don't. It's not my fault that PGI is allowing these hideously unbalanced matches to happen over and over again. Just because they can't balance their game doesn't mean I have to put up with being curb stomped or yelled out by stressed out teammates or listen to them whine and yell at each other. It's just not a fun or cool environment to be in. Flat out. I won't tolerate it anymore. Frankly I stay the **** out of FP unless there is MC riding on it already because of how trashy the mode is for soloers and pugs.
I have always been prepared to deal with the consequences of freedom. I could make the argument that ditching the match is a lot different from team killing. Especially when a loss is a foregone conclusion against a seal clubbing team. Anybody who wants to stay and put up with that **** be my guest. But I'm not going to. I'm willing to endure any and all consequences for that stance. No question about that at all.
As for my fellow mechwarriors I just say that I've grouped with a lot of awesome people. I got a large friends list and in general I get along with people when I play. But there are those moments where it's either disconnect or unleash a stream of cursing and invective that will curdle ******* ear wax.
The seal clubbing is not fun. It's not interesting. It's just a waste of ******* time and I will not endure it.
