Why would you take a locust to farm cbills??? Take the best heavy you have and laser vomit ******* to death.

Because lights are at less than 10% played becasue there's no incentive to play them but then everyone cries when they can't queue with their Heavy/Assuly due to wait times? Maybe if PGI actually made it so that you're not punishing players for reducing their weight so that their team members can have more, whilst also reducing queue times.

OP if you are only playing to grind for a certain mech not sure how that could be fun. Play the game to have fun and watch your Cbills go up without worrying about it and before you know it you'll have the Cbills you need. If you aren't having fun, well, you'll have to make a decision.

Yes, it does, I'm not gong to deny that at all, but why would they encourage that? I'm only doing it for the Cbills. I would enjoy the game so much more if I could just go out and shoot things rather than do stuff like that and get at least equally rewarded for doing so.
Why are you trying to defend PGI for letting me compromise my team for cbills though .-.

Because they encourage you MORE to simply not be a shitbag and help your team to win, which is why you get more cbills doing that.

Lights - in my opinion - aren't the best C-Bill farmers 'cause you're usually getting less damage, less kills, less KMDDs and less destroyed components than heavier classes.

On the topic of Skill Tree vs. Rule of Three, getting 91 Skillpoints costs 4,095,000 C-Bills. Depends on whether you want to play all three variants of a given 'Mech, of course, but that's significantly cheaper than buying, say, a second OnmiMech that runs the same builds anyway...

/edit:
Also, with the even going, you can easily farm up a good chunk of additional C-Bills every day.

Depends on the player. If you are a good light pilot. You can easily rack up the damage, kills and KDMMs.

In my 30 ton Javelin:
Averaging 400-800 Damage per match.
Averaging 1-3 kills.
Averaging 1-3 KDMMs.

I know guys that laugh at my mediocre numbers, averaging 500-1000 in their Locusts and Arctic Cheetah's.

Apologies, I didn't. I took locust because I enjoy it. Nothing more satisfying than killing a lone noob assault. That, and the fast paced gameplay. Why should I be punished for that? :/

I find a large chunk of the enjoyment from this game in the mech customisation and being able to play many different play styles, which I'm not allowed to do due to c-bills.

A lot of the money comes from kills and assists. You want to earn a lot, play aggresively and get your damage in early. Damage alone is some cash, but the real money comes when the mech you damaged dies, either by your hand or by your teammates'. If you did most of your damage after your team started to collapse and you didn't get kills/kill assists, then you end up with poor earnings.

You are contradicting yourself. There are only a few ways to play this game.
1. for fun
2. farm
3. comp

If you are enjoying your mech, stop worrying about cbills. Lights arent in the game for cbill farming.

Explain where I've contradicted myself please. All I've said is that I shouldn't be punished with a reduction of cbills for playing light mechs which I enjoy aswell as playing other unique archetypes like gauss and poptarting, but I can't afford to do many of those due to cbill restrictions.

You aren't punished though. If you put up numbers you get paid. Winning will net you the most.

If you still don't like that total grab some premium time or a c-bill boost mech. Like it or not, that's the business model.

Could always comb through your inventory and sell excess equipment.

Cbills are based around combat damage and kills. Light mechs typically do the least amount of both. Scouting and other positive game play to help your team doesnt generate cbills. Its always been that way with MWO.

You want cbills, focus on using meta mechs that generate high kill counts or damage numbers.

I like that the OP is trying to blame PGI for him making less Cbills, when he purposefully plays in a way that makes his team less effective (read: more likely to lose) and will therefore make less cbills.

It takes a lot for someone to see their own mistakes.

it really takes you 250 games to master one mech? maybe you should play the mech instead of suicide rush sim?

No, that's the point. I make loads of C bills when I don't help my team, but when I actually do damage and get kills I get close to no c bills, you're accusing me of doing literally the opposite of what I'm actually trying to do...

Despite the amount of matches one would ostensibly have to play in order to get an Assault 'Mech I still see plenty of waterbrained 100 tonners who contribute nothing of value to the team and often barely break three digit damage values in a public queue. Nothing makes my day worse like some idiot running 4+ LRM20s on an Assault Mech that's not even remotely intended for such a thing, let alone effective at it.

Go heavy

Don't use consumables

Choose conquest, even losing you get 160K+ a win can net 250K

Personally if I take my LRM timberwolf out for 10 to 15 game night I can walk away with 3 Million easy. With the event on you can get bonus cbills every day.
